My analogy of Animals to humans you diluted to a Humans value over an animals values. i never said anything aboutones value over the other or "lets save the whale or spotted owl". you do not know me nor my faith nor my political leaning. yet you felt the need to JUDGE me. I merely stated my PERSPECTIVE on what we as humans are willing to morally accept or delcine. IE: Animnals can be euthanized if ill...Your animal is sick and you take it to the vet. The vet says incurable you kill it! God gave us dominion over the "souless" animals so we decide on which lives or dies.... Of course human life is more valuable than an animals. I concur mostly with that. I don't know about the animals soul or lack there of; God did not tell me about that one... And I'm not being flip. I am being sincere.
You state that human life has such high value Yet YOU and most of the other "Christian Right" (thats political right not right as in correct) feel the war in IRAQ is completely justified. Are the humans that are dying over there "soul less" in your eyes? In your heart? Thousand upon thousands of innocent people are dying and your kind says "kill them all! The poster boy of the christian right, Pat Robertson, sanctioned the assasination of hugo Chavez! OUTRIGHT MURDER because his political views do not concur with ours. THAT IS SICK!!!! MENTAL ILLNESS HERE!!!
What kind of mentality is this that a woman in a catatonic state for years after year with no brain funciton or, another example, some one with Rumatoid arthritis (which if anyone knows anyone with this disease {God Bless them} knows it is beyond crippling. they cannot feed, bath, or even move across the room without excrutiating, blinding, BONE RIPPING pain) should be forced, in your opinion, to live. Yet people that are not related to you, persons you have no right to judge or condemn are condemned by your kind to death? How does this make since in your mind? I trully want to know. I don't want to hear God's will or any of that... I understand God's will (at least as far as a lowly human can grasp it) and that does not answer this question. This is about YOUR WILL. your will that a country that never invaded us. A country that had nothing to do with 911. A country that we allied with in the face of the very accusations we used later to validate a war with them. A war that is about nothing more than conquering land for OIL. A war that has killed thousands of our men and women and countless hundreds of thousands of theirs. How do you justify this? I KNOW MY GOD does not justify it. Even if it was about 911 then it would be a war of vengence!
The bible is full of turning the other cheek. don't have chapter and vs but one story sticks out in my mind:
A farmers son was murdered. The murderer was captured and, in their time, the victims family had a say in the punishment. The father asked the "courts" to hand the man over to him. This murderer took his son from him and yet he told the courts that killing him would not bring back his son, but by taking this man into his home and treating him as his son this would gain him a son! This murderer would know all the love that his son had known. And the murder lived with thta farmer and he felt the love and he returned love. he repented for his sin and trully grieved the loss he had caused.
Man thats humbling! That is the epitomy of, what, I believe, being a chirstian is about. That is grace, class and truelly faith!
Our Govenment has lied to us and your Christian right is allowing it to happen. Preaching it as gospel truth that GOD wills this war! It disgust me! Theres another group of people that use scripture to promote their HATRED of homosexuals. Gong to a gay persons funeral and picketing with megaphones screaming "GOD HATES GAYS!!! BURN IN HELL FAGGOT!!" This departed persons loved ones are there and have to live through this. What do these things do for the morality of a people? What does this show of GODS mercy and grace?
"GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS". See the sings every where and I agree absolutly with it. But what does that statement really mean? if GOD blesses our troops than they live another to day to kill more people! People that did not wage war on us. We waged war on them and we ask GOD to look on us with favor? Do you really think he does? I think this will be one of the things he judges us on. "What did you do to stand up and demand your Government stop the killing"! Do you pray for those Iraq's souls whom die daily? Do you care? Do you pray for GODS spirit to dwell among the terrorist so that they may see the evil that they do and stop? Or do you ask GOD to bring vengence upon them? Do you think in this line of thought at all? or do you just seek vengence? Not forgiveness but vengence for peoples lifes, that God willing you did not even know.
Ok I've said my piece... I could go on for hours but I feel i have said way to much. i hope that somethng made it through. think about what your saying. think aobut what you pray for. think about whom may be on the other side of this computer. People are on the other side of that computer. people with hearts and souls just like you. Maybe they have a differnet opinion, maybe they do not belief the same as you but none the less loved just as much by GOD as you are. WHO are you to judge?
Theosi, you wrote a very thought provoking post. It was never my intention to judge an individual by my posts. The "thoughts and ideas" (some) get me "fired up" as I do not understand how some people can hold certain views. I am not without flaw. As for war, should we then even have a military? Should we have fought against Hitler? Or turned the other cheak? Israel (Gods chosen people) retaliate against the palestinians all the time and most recently for kidnapping ONE of their soldiers. Our people are kiddnapped and beheaded and we (US) do nothing.
