I only watched the last period but it looked the US never even showed up for the game. Finland was hardly even trying and the US couldn't do anything against them.

They weren't so fierce when the swedes colonized them back in the day hehe. They stayed under Sweden for about 600 years and rebellions were always put down, then we lost them to the russians and it was only then that they started to find their their finnish sisu. Sweden is their kryptonite in hockey, they can beat the russians anyday, but they can't find their sisu against their old masters hehe.

that's fine.... Americans care about the olymics up until about 3 hours before closing ceremonies, then it's nothing, a vague, distant memory... Canadians don't have much, so they hold on to that shit like a homeless man grasping at newspapers on a cold winter's evening..

Americans care about everything that has to do with their country, as do all countries. And you're wrong. Canadians love hockey, because it is the only sport we are expected to be extremely good at. So we care quite a bit. I don't care if we win gold or silver. The fact that we beat the USA is consolation enough for me and this thread is a prime example if why
National Sports of Canada Act 1994. It's one of those trivia questions that the trivia games swear is correct and makes me want to jump down their throats and blast their smithereens when they tell me hockey is wrong. It's the fucking law!

If twenty years ago feels like recently then yes, you're very old indeed. How old are you if I may ask? Just gonna throw out a wild guess that you're 59.
