You should be prepared for the possibility for disappointment, then.

There is that pesky prophecy that the entire book series is named, after all.
I'm almost certain that is in reference to R'hllor and the old gods.

Really liked that episode.

I didn't realize Arya wants to kill the Hound though. I can't remember particularly why (other than general dickery, but he did save her life).

He killed the butcher's boy who she was friends with for one thing.

I liked it when Jon
Spoiler
stabbed dude through the back of the head
. That was pretty bitchin'. And I suppose Jamie will be happy to learn
Spoiler
that Locke met his end. If Jamie ever finds out that is. He'd pay Hodor a bag full of gold and Hodor would be confused as hell as to why. Hahaha! But, Locke had it coming, that's for sure. Ole Bastard Ramsey Snow will be sad to hear the news, or wonder whatever happened to his old buddy Locke.

** spoilers are for TV series watchers who haven't seen "He the first of his name" episode of GoT. If you've seen the episode then there are no spoilers.

no need for spoilers when related to the show; if you enter this thread you are supposed to have seen the last episode.
Ok I guess I missed who locke was... he was actually a spy sent by the boltons ton kill the stark boys???? eek... totally missed that. I guess he's one of those characters you barely see with the boltons when lord bolton orders them to go find the starks. AOG as you are just a show watcher as well, did you make the connection or you didn't even notice we had already seen locke the first time he appears at castle black?

Regarding littlefinger, I think it's an awesome move. So he used that nuttshead Lysa to kill john arryn hand of the king robert baratheon. But at the time, he thought he would become hand of the king init? Robert chosing Ned Stark... was it part of the plan?
Or was the long run thought process only to become lord of the eyrie? He is not though, right? Lysa is queen regent and Robyn is the boy-lord? If Lysa and robyn died, would he become lord of the eyrie though? I hope he kills that bitch soon enough and makes the little brat fly.

Just a little recap of lords of the 7 kingdoms at the present time, let me know if I'm right:

winterfell: roose bolton
casterly rock: tywin lannister? can't remember if he ended up naming someone else (not tyrion for sure)
riverrun: walder frey? but littlefinger has harenhal?
dragonstone (and storm's end???): stannis baratheon
pyke: balon greyjoy
highgarden: mace tyrell?
sunspear: doran martell
the eyrie: lysa arryn

He knew Robert Baratheon would ask Ned Stark to be Hand of the King and Littlefinger wanted Ned to be hand of the king. The simple reason is as follows. It's not a secret that the Starks don't really get along with the Lannisters very well even before the events that transpired at the beginning of the books. He wanted a war between the Starks and the Lannisters.

Yep, that was ole Locke, the very man who cut off Jamie's sword hand. He was trying to carry cripple Bran back to Dreadfort. Pity he didn't have any idea what he was getting into. He was too busy dreaming about the new land and keep he was going to be awarded by Roose to notice the giant Hodor coming up behind him.

And is Hodor strong, like unbelievably strong isn't he! The shot of dead Locke, not just the bones in his neck snapped, but his shoulder, chest and ribs all sticking up out of his shoulder/neck like bloody little fingers.

It was awesome. Score one for the good guys!

It's a shame Jamie won't ever get to have his revenge, though. He made Locke a promise, maybe one day Jamie can deliver that promise to demented Ramsay one day.

Yeah. I knew it was him the whole time. Remember when Ramsey shows Bolton that Theon will shave him without any threat of Theon killing him? It was in that scene that Bolton said hell give Locke a cockton of land for killing the Stark boys.

You could tell it was him at Castle Black too because he was the only refined fighter of the new recruits.

Well really, i never had much doubt that john arryn had been killed by the lannisters.
Ok, let me rethink the season 1 events... Arryn dies, robert names ned new hand, then robert dies.... Crap how the hell did robert die? Littlefinger while everything pointed out the lannisters?

Robert actually was Cersei's work. Lancel Lannister who I think is the one that Oberyn has been seducing was Robert's page and was carrying his wine. Cersei had Lancel poison the wine. Not enough to kill Robert out but more than enough to cause him to misjudge the boar and get impaled.

There are far more names on her "kill list" than there are in the book. Beric Dondarrion seemed especially odd to me - what did he do to Arya to get on the list?

Also, the reason Arya wants to kill The Hound is exactly the reason I hate her. She wants to kill him because she killed the "innocent" butcher's boy, yet since that happened Arya herself has killed at least 2 "innocent" people (the boy in King's Landing and the guard during her escape in Harrenhal). You can add in the guy she killed just before Raff the Sweetling, and a handful of other people she's killed along the way, and it makes her a very compulsive and vindictive character. She is (as yet) unable to see the hypocrisy of herself wanting to kill The Hound for something she's done herself.

Beric Dondarion caught me by surprise too. Though I suppose it's because he allowed the Red Woman to take her boyfriend.

Speaking of Beric, the Brothers without Banners haven't had any scenes in the new season. Normally I'd just forget about them but I accidentally read a spoiler about them on Wikipedia and so it's kind of stuck in my mind.

If they are taking the angle I think, you probably won't see them for a while but probably will before the end of the season.

She's a terrified child though, when I read the books I never held her to an adults standards, which in this world isn't very high anyway.

yeah i remember it like this, i remember perfectly how that poor lancel lannister was treated by everyone, even being cersei's toy boy in jaimie's absence. robert was absolutely horrible to him too. I remember him following robert during his hunting wis wine and that basically it was the lannister's work. I didn't remember if it was explicitely done by the lannisters, or if I remembered it as such (I remembered more or less that john arryn was explicitely poisoned by the lannisters... wrong!! wasn't there an opening scene with jaimie and cersei watching from above and very amused to see john arryn dead, with a conversation that seemed to have to be read between the lines??? )

oh and you think that the blond boy that oberyn buttfucks in his threesome is lancel lannister?? I just saw him as a random guy working there init?

That's totally just a random guy. Littlefinger wouldn't have the privelige to have a lannister working in his whorehouse regardless of his tasks. And Lancel looks very different from that guy, and he's not even gay, Lancel used to be Cersei's family f*ck friend, if she can't have her brother she goes for her cousin. She'd almost rather have Tyrion put his dick in her than someone who's not a family member. And most certainly her father, he's probably number one on the list of male family members she has yet to f*ck but wants to.

It probably has just been too long since I have seen Lancel. Plus he wasn't very memorable even in the books. It just didn't seem like a random character.

Last we saw of Lancel was back in the battle of blackwater where he got fucked up. The arrow in the arm was bad enough but then Cersi did some more damage to his arm and he hasn't been seen since in the series. I suppose he's been convalescing all this time since. I'm sure we'll see him again in later seasons in the series. ;)
And he probably won't be too happy with Cersi, considering how she treated him during the battle of blackwater.
