Greetings, comrades, and welcome to the 119th issue of the Conquer Club Dispatch!
Today we have a big announcement for you concerning the Community Team. We also have the ultimate (that is to say, the tenth!) installment of the Dispatch Trivia Contest. Finally, we have another excellent roundup of what is happening in the tournament world by
Dave and the War Games team .
The Doom is Upon Us show: our doom is at hand
J.R.R. Tolkien wrote: Boromir's eyes glinted as he stared at the golden thing. "The Halfling!" he muttered. "Is then the Doom of Minas Tirith come at last? But why should we seek a broken sword?" "The words were not 'the doom of Minas Tirith', said Aragorn, "but doom and great deeds are indeed at hand!" -- The Fellowship of the Ring, Book 2, Chapter 2
Two nights ago BigWham announced that he is passing the baton of the Community team to DoomYoshi bigWham wrote: Yep, after a brief whirlwind stay at the top here I am handing over the reigns to someone that I think will do an incredible job. I took the lead in Community because I think it is absolutely critical to the site, really wanted to understand how it worked, and also felt I had a few brief contributions to throw into the mix. I feel like I've done what I set out to do, and now the role is better served by someone who is of the community. DY has shown huge initiative, creative energy, and positive thinking in what he has done to date, so I am hopeful that, with the rest of the team, that we can only elevate further the role of events and community oriented initiatives on CC in general.
I asked DoomYoshi for comment.DoomYoshi wrote: The Community Team was running fine before, but a time for a slight change in personnel and slight change in philosophy will help. Obviously a lot of my passion is for the monthly challenges. They will revert to the old system where there was no GA. I will have at least one month ready in advance so there are no shoddy challenges like this current month. I would prefer to have a few major events that are fully planned and integrated than a few smaller events. Having site-wide coverage opens a can of worms that the lackattack-run Entertainment Team never had to deal with, but we will rise to the challenge. I will try to bring in people from around the site to help with putting together events, not only for the help but due to my basic philosophy towards a Community Team.
The CC Dispatch wishes to congratulate DoomYoshi on his spectacular rise to Head of the Community Team! We look forward to seeing how the Team will evolve from here! Looking forward to many great deeds!

show: prize update
It's been a while since this contest began (October 2nd of last year!) so I figure we should refresh everyone's memory about the prizes:Subject: CC Dispatch [Issue 104 02-10-13] Dices, Bots, and Caffeine Here at the Dispatch we've decided to start a small, regular trivia for our beautiful readers! For the next ten issues there will be a series of questions all about Conquer Club and the Dispatch. A prize will be issued every issue for the winner; either three months of shiny premium or free entry into the grand
Conquer Cup . You can only win once, but it's still worth submitting answers every week, because whoever has the most correct answers after ten issues will win a year of premium! In the case of a tie for first place, a series of five quick-fire questions will be hosted in Live Chat.
Furthermore, the top five players after the tenth issue will all receive General Achievement medals. Ties for second through to fifth place will be PM'd a set of 10 trivia questions. If there are more ties, everyone gets free coffee (aka we'll think of another solution). Finally, one player who enters the trivia every issue, will be awarded a six month premium.
Please note, all answers must be PM'd to iAmCaffeine before the next Dispatch is released. Answers sent elsewhere will be disregarded. IN ADDITION to that generous prize package above, I have decided to add the following, for this round alone . The top three players (making the most correct answers) based on the 10th installment of questions alone, will get a Pink Conquer Star, a Cyan Conquer Star, and an Orange Conquer Star, respectively. If there is a tie we will have a special play-off round in the next issue. If there is still a tie after that, we will draw randomly.
