Finally the Americans will stop thinking they're actually good at football.

Okay coach... put some fresh legs on the field
or throw in the towel.

Johnson is the only reason it's not 8-0 by now.

Those players deserved a standing ovation only by the effort they delivered.

Hate to say it, but stoppage time is the biggest piece of shit rule in sports. Completely arbitrary.

Oh well, the US gave a good fight and can be proud of their world cup, they went as far as they could.
Belgium deserved the win, and this ended up very close thanks to an epic howard.

I am very surprised to see that there hasn t been a single upset in those 1/8th of finals, all group winners made it.
And holy shit.... 5/8 games ended up in overtime!!! I wonder if it s a record.

When you go to bed tonight just think of Wondolowski and how he will sleep tonight. Poor Besler. Got burned twice.

The extra time was great. USA had it's chances, none better than that set piece, but just couldn't get the equalizer. And how about Tim Howard? Every bit as impressive as Ochoa's performance against Brazil.

My new favorite team is now Colombia.

Bollocks.

Hell of a finish though... would have loved to see pens. Finally Argentina get to play against a team who understands that they're allowed to attack as well.

Play 15 minutes and come up with 1 minute stoppage time?

It was a good match and I believe the better team won,
but USA had it within their grasp.

PKs would have been icing on this cake for sure.

Hell no! It wouldn t be so special. Even every 2 years would remove a lot of epicness. Given the length of a professional career, most of these players are not sure they will ever have an other chance to participate, and every team gives all they got.

But yeah, brazil 2014 will be a long remembered world cup, great overall level.

And seriously, for quarter finals there is just costa rica to whom I would give close to no chance.

Brazil v colombia 60/40
France v germany 45/55

Netherlands v costa rica 90/10
Argentina v belgium 60/40

USA were really the most entertaining team in this world cup.. when only when they are behind.. they made a great performance when Portugal took a 1-0 lead against em.. the same today when Belgium scored.

Switzerland was one of the most boring shows today.. I'm glad I won't see them again in this tournament. good job Messi and Di Maria...

I like the defensive tactic in the long season and league when it's a home and away thing.. but it's soooooooooooo boring in a summer international tournament and it's too hot to bother! XD

Ah come on, you are so biaised. Argentina is more boring team by far, all their 4 games were shit, mostly if you think of their potential.
Shaquiri brings a lot of talent to this swiss team, I didn t dislike watching them play (compared to other years). Argentina has been a torture, and against belgium that plays in an unconvincing way, that game will be a pain in the ass.

Still wishing to see a netherlands vs belgium in semis. The belgians have a team this year that could be dangerous against their allmighty neigbours.
