CDC is seeking comments on proposed recommendations to doctors in support of voluntary circumcision, based on clinical trials in Africa suggesting that circumcision is effective in diminishing risk for certain diseases.

I personally support circumcision being voluntary. When performed on a baby, it should only be performed as a medical necessity.

Like burning the dead in Ebola ridden nations of Africa, I'm not sure that circumcision practices should necessarily be applicable to nations where HIV is anywhere as like as rampant.
