French dont have victory on their own since then.

Goran, when you're from a fake new country named after a bad gooey salad, you should not comment on history.

I know where I come from(you can read it next to my flag), but do you know where you come from? Seems to me like the English corrected everything French in you except how to call certain countries. Just a little and you will be true Canadian.
Even a little kid knows whats the name of my country... http://youtu.be/XFxjy7f9RpY

He s french living in Quebec, not from there for the record.
I agree, macedonian salad is absolutely disgusting. You should not name your country after bad food.
I m still in croacia and you get good seafood here though.

Waterloo was one of those achievements. It was a good thing for us during those years that the "A team" was over in Europe kicking Napoleon's ass, or we'd have really been embarrassed in the war of 1812, the Brits might have burned the White House or something. ;)

Every country has its losses.

Just for fun, a brief history of French warfare: :P
Gallic Wars: Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian.

Hundred Years War: Mostly lost, saved at last by a female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare - "France's armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchmen."

Italian Wars: Lost. France becomes the first and only country ever to lose two wars when fighting Italians.

Wars of Religion: France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots.

Thirty Years' War: France is technically not a participant, but manages to get invaded anyway. Claims a tie on the basis that eventually the other participants started ignoring her.

War of Devolution: Tied; Frenchmen take to wearing red flowerpots as chapeaux.

The Dutch War: Tied.

War of the Augsburg League/King William's War/French and Indian War: Lost, but claimed as a tie. Deluded Frogophiles the world over label the period as the height of French Military Power.

War of the Spanish Succession: Lost. The War also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which they have loved ever since.

American Revolution: In a move that will become quite familiar to future Americans, France claims a win even though the English colonists saw far more action. This is later known as "de Gaulle Syndrome", and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare: "France only wins when America does most of the fighting".

French Revolution: Won, primarily due to the fact that the opponent was also French.

The Napoleonic Wars: Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer.

The Franco-Prussian War: Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunk Frat boy to France's ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.

WWI: Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. Thousands of French women find out what it's like not only to sleep with a winner, but one who doesn't call her "Fraulein." Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline.

WWII: Lost. Conquered French liberated by the United States and Britain just as they finish learning the Horst Wessel Song.

War in Indochina: Lost. French forces plead sickness, take to bed with Dien Bien Flu.

Algerian Rebellion: Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a Western army by a Non-Turkic Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare -"We can always beat the French." This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Eskimos.

Oh Doc... that's just MEAN. (love it... but mean.)
The first two actually had me laughing out loud. My GF is used to that by now, so just rolled her eyes and ignored me.
Unlike something in the TOFU forum last week, which had me snort beer all over the table in laughter. 8-[ Disproving stares galore...
Which reminds me, I should just send hop and lou my drycleaning bills from now on.

How can you count a revolution as a win, it's at best a tie, since some countrymen won and some lost.

As an aside, people in my country thought I was strange when I said Benedict Arnold was twice a traitor, but all revolutionaries are by definition traitors.

Lol... Maybe you should learn a bit more of salad boy's country history that has nothing to do with ancient macedonia. Just go speak to greeks and ask them what they think of these salad frauds.
They are such frauds that europeans don't accept to call them macedonians... As they are trying to apropriate a history they are not related to.

Regarding france... If we really were that bad on the battlefield...looks like we were not to bad negociating defeats or something?
We have the biggest country of western europe in spite of being surrounded by 7 countries we've all fought against.. With access to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic (only Spain can claim that) without mentioning all the land and seas we own across the globe. Yes... We have the second biggest maritime dominion on earth, present in all oceans. Pretty good for "losers"

:-s
France. Crazy... like a fox ;)
Has become so proficient at losing that the other side don't realize their victories are hollow? In the end the French always have access to wine, women, and at least two oceans upon which to let the British sink their Navy?
Perhaps so. If your going to win through losing though, I prefer the Finnish way to do it. Sure they lost a bit of land, but that land was so stained with the blood of the country that took it, that they'll think twice about coming back for more :)

As for modern Macedonia, I will concede without reservation that I know nothing at all about the country. My most up to date reading on the nation regards events a few thousand years past.

France's best nautical achievement had to be killing Nelson, the greatest Admiral who ever lived (I'll leave it at that, if I expand on what happened that day that achievement will diminish somewhat).

Any early predictions, or trends developing?

I don't have time to go through each game, but I'm sure some of you are.

Too early to tell, but looks like FALL has a slight advantage through the games so far!

Its quite early. A slight advantage can be easily overcome.

The other Semi-final is further along and still very close.

Yes, I have gone through the games in ours individually, but you'll be into your third set of games before we have a good feel for who will win ours.

Yeah I just looked, but like Momo says its too early for most to really know where those games will land for the most part.
Right now, for decided games I have 1-1

Some classy comments on your end Dako; sorry to hijack this thread but I must comment here - Not to take anything away from LHDD as they played incredibly well but we hindered ourselves early on due to real life circumstances from many Monkies and simply couldn't overcome the missed turns etc; this alone cost us several games, which would have narrowed the gap tremendously if the misses weren't the case. We're as good if not better than ever Dako, don't kid yourself! Thing is, there are just more important things than that of CC. I think our record and roster speaks for itself.

Beating anyone by 1 is much harder than beating someone by 13. When you win by one every move takes on huge significance. When you are ahead by so many games that you win by 13, if you mis-click a fort move, you figure its not going to be catastrophic. You want to be the guy that misdeploys or mis-clicks when you lose by 1? I sure in the hell don't. I don't know anyone who does.

If tomorrow TOFU face LHDD, do you think it will be more impressive than TOFU beat LHDD by 1 game, or by 13?
If you beat us by 1 game, it means we actually have the same level, if you beat us with a 10+ game difference, it means you were, during this war at least, better than us.
A victory by 1 game, is ultimately, imo, a victory by luck, both clans could have win the war, and it came down to a few lucky rolls, because in any way, there is definitely more than 1 game decided by dices in any war. While a victory with a large margin, as I said, means you were better.

Surely, when the war is very tight until the end, there is much more pressure on the last games, but it doesn't mean winning by 1 game is much harder than winning by 10+ game

If we face LHDD tomorrow and win by any margin I will be happy. It means a championship. That's our goal. The margin is irrelevant.

Right now its all a moot point though. We are fighting for our lives against KORT for the chance to play for a championship.

having a bit more time today to finally have my own opinion on where this batch 1 is going... I think fallen has pretty much its 10 wins, and we're gonna have to struggle to make the margin as close as possible to a tie.

nicely played so far guys!
