Before I started reading this thread, I had no idea what W@W was. So, naturally, I was curious.
OMG, that site is not even half what CC is. No, seriously. I'm new to CSS and HTML design, but that is terrible. I could even do that, and that's saying something!
The moral of the story: Don't visit strange or unknown online risk sites (basically, nothing other than CC).
Well, what is there to say? There seem to have slightly less active or current games than CC, and they reset all their scores every month. Wow, that must get onerous (spelling?). I can't believe they kicked our butts in the matches!
There are two scores on W@W. One is a running score for all time. Never been reset in the nearly 6 years I have been there. The other score is a monthly score, to give people something to shoot for every month. At the end of the month the scores reset, and everyone gets to try to be the best for the month, all over again.
Thats an interesting feature. I was also under the impression that the total scores reset every month. I think W@W is a good site, with lots of diiferent options for gameplay. But, they have a few too many options and the site is cluttered and complicated for people who arent familiar.
I wouldnt mind conquerclub going through some of the changes to make it more like landgrab.. such as placing your own armies and clicking on countries to attack from and to etc.. aesthetically conquerclub kicks langrabs ass though.
Regarding options at W@W, that is what makes it interesting. There is only so much straight Risk a person can play before it gets a little old.
I don't see as the interface is that confusing. I guess it is just what I am used to using.
I agree that the maps here look prettier, but I like the way they are done on W@W. In particular, I like the ability to get the country name by hovering the mouse over the army number.
Out of curiosity, how long has this site been running?
I tried to get that competition started.... I know about 4 people from landgrab who would play over here.... If you madethe games over there You could get alot more variety from the landgrab people...
