It's not that simple.

His dad has a unique case of dementia and doesn't really remember his episodes except for the obvious hurt it causes in seeing the wake of it's emotional aftermath. He is a proud man and so he's never found the strength to personally make amends for his actions despite DF's countless apologies on his behalf. Sad state of affairs, I've even bore witness to it myself when I use to use them in order to sleep on their couch for free cable and sandwhiches. He loves him you see?
