The SoC Training Academy and its Training Grounds provide basic training for new and old members looking to enhance their game strategy. "Train a Cook today, lose to a Sergeant tomorrow"
I would like to participate in the welcoming of new players. (I do not know if I meet the '100 games completed' prerequisite, as most of my games are bot games and do not show in my Games Completed statistic.) I have accepted 2 Guide Game requests through Global Chat. So far none of the new recruits have played a turn.
I have 2 questions: * Could I join the Society of [Super]Guides? * I currently have 1 Casual speed Guide Game and 3 non-Guide Games, and when I try to start a Bot Game I am informed: You cannot have more than 4 active games at once. I thought I read that Guide Games were not supposed to count towards my 4 allowed games?

I'm not sure how that will work out. I've added you, so we will find out soon enough.
Hey, so I just ended up doing one of these games, and I was a bit confused about what I was doing/what was expected of me. I ended up dropping a few tips and pointing them towards the forums, but going in I had no idea what I was doing, only that I was playing against new recruits. I'd like to suggest a popup box of dialogue, similar to what happens when you get a game alert, explaining what you're supposed to do. Possibly even some tips for us.
I also hope there is something in place that keeps members with a low rating out of these games, especially since I just returned from a long hiatus from this site.
If u still need ppl I'm online a fair bit and happy to welcome some new members... I lose a lot so cant give them winning strategic advice lol but can answer some questions and give them helpful links
I would enjoy being a guide but I won't be on the site for 6 months until later this month. Just getting ready to take my SOC Academy exam games and made LT only 2 days ago. bobbythomson
How do I get my name on the tally sheet of games participated in? I also want to note that in my first speed game neither the recruit nor the other guide showed up. A complete no show I guess you would say.

You'll get invites for speed games by pm, and the site will auto-join you to casual games.
Good attitudes and helpful tips are 99% of it.
Thanks dhallmeyer!!! Had my first pm game already and a no show I sent him a pm as I could not write on his wall to tell him the game had started and he never read my pm so he missed three straight turns. I will keep working!

Sadly, that is not atypical. Many people sign up and look around for a few minutes and decide the site is not for them. As Guides, we try to catch some and show them around. Don't take it personally.
