I dont claim to speak for the site, not really a numbers boost issue. But they "contribute" to the site forum area and activity and I doubt they would chase people off for simply participating unless for some reason they felt particular people were doing more harm then good.jgordon1111 wrote:Are you saying that CC wants these non players because its simply a number boost that looks good on paper, because other sites don't allow this, blood brothers, grepolis just to site a few, where freemium, preemium co exist play, but if you speak but don't play your dealt with quickly.

I looked at your wall, you mistake my intent it seems, there are people who have been here longer than you who haven't even near your games and it is obvious they don't intend to even try to play, with as much time as they spend trolling the forums you would think they had time for at least four games a month, but it isn't so.Shannon Apple wrote:So, you're saying that if I decide not to play any games for several months, but still want to be part of and contribute to the community, I shouldn't? I have done it. I have been around for 6 months and not played a single game due to not being able to commit to logging in every single day to take turns. When I get sick of playing, or can't play due to real life commitments, I will just slink into the background and still do mod stuff as necessary, and post on the forum from time to time.
People should have a right to play as many games as they please. If they are causing issues on the site, they should be dealt with. The rules are so slack that I am not even sure of what constitutes a breaking of the rules though. There are a few people on this site that I would throw a few temp forum bans on if it was up to me because they are out of control, but it's not.

Exactly this.Metsfanmax wrote:If you don't want to participate in off-topic discussions, you don't have to. But they're off-topic. It has nothing to do with CC gameplay, and never has.

This:jgordon1111 wrote:Or so it claims to be,
Premium players and freemium good.
Don't change this part, the part that needs to change is the people who use this site as a personal blog , they don't play all they do is use this Game site to push their personal ideaology and that's not why most are here, yes the forums are great, but when all you see is non players constantly littering it with their agenda its ridiculous., in short you play or you leave. Set up a system that balances how many games you must play, and you must win some to have access to the rest of the site. No play(to win) no talk
The benefits are simple, those who come to this site to play a game they love and talk to other players who love the game, can actually enjoy this entire site, without having to see every forum besotted by those who love that its a blog spot for their personal ideaology.
When it is up to CC related topics, you must take into account that freemiums are as good with ideas as paying members, and those ideas are driving the site forward. Banning fremmiums to introduce new ideas is same as cutting the branch on which you sit.Metsfanmax wrote:If you don't want to participate in off-topic discussions, you don't have to. Your suggestion allows no room for subjective differentiation. Under this suggestion PMC would be banned from forum posting.jgordon1111 wrote: Pmc, your name never crossed my mind in this topic

No ginkapo, I read again my original post, just to make sure what I said, read the part about set up a system to balanced the games.... I made a suggestion, it wasn't a demand, that leaves it wide open for CC Admin to choose the criteria for who is and isn't a player here. And again to reiterate Pmc was not the reason for this suggestion. Read that add on, or PLAYERS like him!WingCmdr Ginkapo wrote:Your suggestion allows no room for subjective differentiation. I believe what you really want to suggest is tightening of the forum rules in line with Shannon's feelings, which then has nothing to do with whether someone plays or not.

Semp but why go to the park, if your not going to play at all, your whole reason is to attempt to make everyone else aggravated by doing and saying ignorant things with only that in mind, if that is your only purpose wouldn't your parents at some point step in and stop it? you see the correlation here? Most game sites draw lines with things like I am speaking of CC draws lines on freemium PLAYERS already, types of games, how many, speed etc, why not stop those who intentionally won't play, but blog everyday,Evil Semp wrote:It is like a park for kids. Just because most like to play on the slice and I play on the swings and never on the slide I shouldn't be allowed into the park?

jgordon1111 wrote:Where to start
Ice, I wasn't suggesting you speak for CC
You were asking whether or not the site wanted something, which suggests asking me to answer "what CC wants" (the site, not the community) which is why I clarified that I wasn't speaking for the site (an important clarification as a TeamCC volunteer).jgordon1111 wrote:

And the community debates its merits.jgordon1111 wrote: Set up a system that balances how many games you must play, and you must win some to have access to the rest of the site. No play(to win) no talk

I am probably one of the people you are referring to, since I am currently active in 0 games and freemium. Although I am over 4 games per month and I have paid for premium in the past, not sure exactly how many times but probably around 3. I am 100% sure that would never have happened if it wasn't for the forums, it is called community and it is a good thing for the site.

Aye, I think he was going for me a bit too. My participation on the site kinda depends on my wellness and energy. I have little time for bullies and basterds.iAmCaffeine wrote:Both of these.pmchugh wrote:Exactly this.Metsfanmax wrote:If you don't want to participate in off-topic discussions, you don't have to. hey everyone he spelled bastard wrong!! haha what an idiot!! omg, I dont believe it. i just want to say this spelling mistake negates any point he was trying to make and allows me to tell him that his opinion doesnt matter either. I'll also mention that we covered this exact same point in January 2009 (i have inboxed the link to you). i said this exact same thing then as well. i am magnificent. if i have time i might tell him off doing things that i frequently do.Symmetry wrote:Aye, I think he was going for me a bit too.
