"Dodge Stratus" only turns up as being used before by a few players- pimpdave is one, saxitoxin and georgerx7di are the other two.

What's an easy way to increase user count? Ignore multis. Plus, Pimpdave was so great because he generated TONS of quality forum posts.

They basically have the same idiolect- same turns of phrase, same vocab, same behaviour, etc. I don't know how the mods look for multis, but I doubt they pay that much attention to writing. It's either PD or someone doing a very accurate parody.

It's never that simple, so you can't blame sniffie. You guys should know that already though. He would have to have interacted with the banned user on a semi-regular basis before he was banned in order to be able to say "oh yes, that's him." Multi tools are only useful to an extent. What you can do though is check the location of old IPs versus the location of new IPs. Even if there isn't a match, it gives a better idea. Serious trolls spend money on VPN services to avoid that though, so sometimes it does take time to fully decide if someone is indeed a ban evader. I'm speaking purely from experience with forum trolls, not game multies.

this is probably the most destructive comment i have ever seen a team member post in our fair fauna... arguably the most destructive... could be the most dangerous... either way, i hope Met's comes back and edits it or mod gives it the ol "mod edit" treatment. that post is treading in Wicked territory. you should be both reprimanded and ashamed.

i agree 100% with shannon, which means she is 102% correct... many banned forum members made forays back into the fauna, after their bans... they put on new hats and tried to cover who they were... but regulars could sniff them out and they soon grew tired of not being able to be "themselves". sniffie never interacted with Pimp, he wouldn't know a pimp post if it was on his wall. and that is totally not his fault! the tools only go so far, as shannon said. and if the guy is just posting in off topics, who really cares? weren't the off topics crew trying to get rid of Bernie Sanders a few months ago? the mods could not figure out who he was, but it wasn't hard if you just paid attention. this is all that sniff-a-holic could do and if you want further action, you should gather the evidence and present it in a way that anyone that is not a forum goer would say, "f*ck yeah, that's the same dude!!"

2) If you wanted the comment to go away, you probably shouldn't have quoted it.

Also, for the record, I never held it against sniffie for not knowing how to tell pimpdave based on forum posts. I was merely making an observation for the record, not blaming the C&A staff. But it wouldn't take much work to confirm that they are the same; just search "death squad" in Off Topic and have fun.

A mod can't punish someone for being a multi just because he expresses himself the same way as another user in some or all of his posts.

You can punish a student for copying an essay though... There is enough evidence quite easily.

1) Not off subject, mate. My point is that you can identify a person going under several different names by their writing style.

2) Who said anything about copying? If a student writes another student's paper they won't copy. It'll be written in another person's style. If that person's style is recognisable, there's grounds for doubt.

3)I think it should be a tool in any mods arsenal.
