I recently started playing this awesome sniper game on my phone and on that I'm allowed to change my username at will. I don't really see why it's an issue. Your rating and foeing/friending of you by others could follow you around the name changes, so it's not like people could use a name change to evade anything.

I got sick of attempting to join sites and getting the "That user name is already taken" message.
Many moons ago, I played a lot of drunken Warcraft fantasy, my main character... Razorvich the Assassin.
Razor came from the obvious, a quick sharp blade.. the "vich" IDK... most likely at that stage of my life when I was way wasted.
Some funny times with this name over the years, been asked by many, here included, if I was from Eastern Europe
I met my wife on a site with the name Razorvich, took a bit of explaining at first, (she thought i was an axe murderer).. but we are still together after 12 years.......(+2 years chatting online) I think she understands.. i think
AND I have a doppelgänger, my nephew has been calling himself Razorvich1 for many years now.... cant wait till we cross paths somewhere...

I wanted a properly respectful name for a war game site. So of course I turned to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I was reminded of the Frenchman taunting the the silly English knights (although he pronounced it with all the letters as k nig it). But Silly English Knig-it was too many letters, so I dropped the English, but I have kept the fearsome battle cry of, "Run Away, Run Away".

I don't know why but I always thought that was a Kipling poem.
They're very different poets, but they both ended up being appropriated by the Empire. Blake's most famous poetic bit is Jerusalem, which is generally considered a kind of alternative national-anthem. He wrote the words, but had nothing to do with the song beyond that.
Perhaps that's why you got confused.
the world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it- Albert Einstein
Maybe. Although I think it's mostly just because Kipling grew up in India and the poem's about tigers.
I did think it was funny that Jerusalem was originally written as an anti-industrialization workers' poem, given people now just treat it as a song about how great England is. Maybe one day people will also hold up General Melchett as a shining example of bulldog spirit.

Blake is a lot more interesting than that. He wrote a poem called Jerusalem, but the lyrics are part of another poem called Milton. It's not really a worker's poem, that bit. It's mostly about a weird theory that Jesus might have visited England.
Brief version- Joseph was a carpenter; might have travelled around the Roman empire; Roman empire extended to British Isles; might have taken his son with him.

Yeah, but there's all the stuff about dark satanic mills and needing to build Jerusalem. Whatever he meant by mills, he seemed to be saying that England needed an overhaul.

Blake thought that the soul of a person was imagination. The only part of a person that has no limits beyond those restricted by law and morality. His criticism wasn't restricted to England. He hated Washington as a warmonger, for example. No fan of Tyrants, was Blake.

My real name comes pretty close to J. Blombier.
Bier means beer in Dutch and I was 18 when I joined CC, so I altered my family into Blombier, because my friends called me that.
I've always had a special relationship with beer, so I feel no regrets. It just makes it a little hard to show CC to the 11-12 year olds in my class, because they know my name and will wonder why I put beer in my username instead...
A few years ago, playing some games at another website (unlike CC that has the Noble games of both Risk and Chess), I was getting upset at the computer for my bad luck. I started to slam the desk and say bad and profane things. My wife told me calm down and not get upset over losing "silly games" ( her term).
I thought about that and said the games were getting to me and I forgot why we play games: FOR THE FUN of playing.
Winning should be NOT the main thing, but an additional reward for playing. (I once was told there are only 2 kinds of fishing [or hunting]. There was good fishing, which is every time one can get way to enjoy the outdoors and then there was GREAT fishing, which is when fish was actually caught. sooooo....I should JUST Play FOR the FUN of playing and NOT worry about winning; I should JUS play 4 FUN....and.....HERE I am. I remind myself of this when I get in a bad losing streak (as I am IN right now) that at least I am able to PLAY and enjoy NOT working or NOT worrying for a few minutes.

Do they reset your joined date too?
I doubt it, why?
I was just wondering if they reset caffs joined date when they changed teh name by removing some stars from it
Seems a bit of a subtle way to ask a question that could be asked directly. Not exactly brutal. Why the name?
It was a name I used on a game called Trade Wars which I played on a BBS before this internet thingy. When signing up for CC I was pushed for a name and just re-used this one.

HOLY SHIT! It's been years since I met anyone who played Trade Wars! Wow, that is cool! Well met!
You were an EVIL bastard, no doubt, with that name. I was one of the fools who tried to sustain GOOD.

Indeed I was an evil bastard, but not a very good one- the game was stacked against us. Getting looted by Ferenghi and the galactic cops (I cant remember what they were called just now)
Great pictures and a great tribute to those who died and sacrificed at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. WELL DONE..
