Wouldn't you say BNI and Lion King are currently similar in settings? One has a slightly larger player group, but I have no reason to change my playstyle here compared to BNI. Obviously it has worked out to my benefit considering I'm the last of 3 in BNI...So what exactly is the issue?

Fake claiming a nameless character in a theme like this while being the first to claim would be pretty ballsy for a mafia. Not a safe move unless the mod gave us fake claims

This being so, here is the new plan (assuming that you people actually want to win this):

1) If you are a VANILLA NO-NAME TOWNIE CLAIM NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!

Since I sincerely doubt that there are 8 players who are both pro-town as well as possessing the level o competency and diligence to secure a Day 1 lynch, the end of the week might as well serve as our deadline for that. If no additional paw or hoof is raised, we can assume that the original three (DDS, Kwanton and Samlen) are proven townies.

2) Starting from DAY 2 three random players out of the remaining 12 (decided by the first 3 numbers drawn for EUROJACKPOT (there is a youtube recording of every drawing, which is why I think it's the simplest public randomizer to use) mod 12, 9, 6 and 3 (on Days 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively) CLAIM THEIR NAMES. If they lie, I assume that counterclaiming is within everyone's mafia skill set?

3) If there are more the 3 vanillas alive after Day 1 ends, I humbly suggest that Cop pick his target among them.

4) When claim-counterclaim does happen, if we have been blessed with a smart Day Vig as opposed to smart JOAT, he/she can wack the guy who claimed first right away and, if he flips Town we lynch the accuser. One dead Townie for 1 dead Scum = good for the Town.

5) Finally, regarding the whole "Play the game, not the setup" thing - put me in a game with 15 real players who really want to play and I would be absolutely delighted to.

Goodness this is a horrible plan. Look you have no idea whether the mafia have fake claims or not. and if they do have them this plan does nothing good for town and gives the scum a nice little map to all of the town's powerroles. It has such a big area to fail. Now it might work if the scum don't have fake claims but I trust in Naggy and Frenchie-chan's modding skills to give out fake claims. The problem with games like these is they become easily solvable without fake claims because it's simple, lynch all the people who don't fit in. So I am forced to believe as it stands that the scum have fake claims until it is clear whether they do or don't. Even so at Day 1 it's not worth the risk it poses. Down the line when it's the powerroles have done stuff it might be worth it to flood the town with information, but right now? No way.

Furthermore I think your stance on DDS is, "I don't like what he does therefore he is scum," which isn't how mafia works. People can do things that are completely different to what one would expect but still be town. Just look at dakky. There's a reason why he gets lynched often. But he isn't always scum and often times he's town. It's all about playstyle and what someone believes. Unless DDS is doing a great trick for us I think he truly believes this. I don't agree with him but I don't think he's scum just because I don't agree with him.

In BNI I didn't agree with Skoffin for days on end but that didn't make her scum, and in fact she wasn't scum, and for the most part I didn't think she was. Just because she happens to think differently than I doesn't make her mafia. It just means she plays different and has a different role.

It's very possible. I mean if you can see this sort of thing happening why not do something like that. I can't say that Nag HAS done that but I do think it is possible that he has.

But even the names will tell who is a townie versus who isn't. As most characters without names won't have powers. So getting all the townies to claim hurts the town.

The part where the named roles claim (granted if they don't claim their roles) isn't that bad. I mean at that point though why not have a mass name claim?

Completely pointless as as I've just said, there's bound to be fake claims given. We'll just end up with 15 town claims and no counter-claims. Big waste of time.

I don't think there's much there. It's clear he means 'us' as in the whole group of players when taken into context with the rest of his post.

I can't agree with the lynches of Sam or DDS as those cases seem to be entirely dependent on their stance regarding D1 lynches, and I can't help but be perplexed at the motivation behind lynching someone for a stance that happens to be non-alignment indicative for them. Both of them are against D1 lynches in every game, it's really only suspicious if they suddenly advocated to lynch someone in this game. Sorry but I'm not going to attack someone for playstyle. They could very well be scum, but this reason does not make them so.

Once you play with mitch a few times, you will realize... that yes, he can be completely random. Often way too much so. But he does seem to be trying to scum hunt so far, and other than his soft claiming he hasn't done too much theme talking... so my guess is that he's town.

Kwan, I am unsure about now. He was "following the herd" long before it was common knowledge that was how VTs were. So my guess is either he is town, or scum have the VT PM. The "us" referring to scum does look suspicious though... and I don't see any other good cases for now, so I will leave my vote on him.

To be honest I'm very wary of Flores and question her motivations and alignment. First uses hypocrisy to vote me, now claiming it as some successful strategy to get me posting more despite it being unrelated.
Seemingly following Mandy's lead - again. Casting suspicion on literally every no name herbivore player for seemingly no reason. Then finishing it by voting for the weakest player in the game and stating it's no loss even if he turns out town.
I have a hard time seeing her as town.
