Maybe this is an option:

-don't make 1 game count for a match, but make 1 game count for a set, and thus make this a best-of-3 or best-of-5 tournament, like is done in the real Grand Slam tournaments?

Maybe not an option any more in this tournament, as it already has started and people that are already in don't like it, but you could do it in the next tournaments (Roland Garros etc.).

i dont think it will be a problem later. its just this adjacent-no cards combo on such a small map!

Yeah if possible I think a best out of 3 series would be good for the second round and up. I don't think it needs to increment anymore than that.

I'd rather keep the tourny as is. I don't feel comfortable with rule changes mid tourny. As for the 3 sets idea we still can't order who gets to go first. 1 player could end up going first in all 3 games so it doesn't make it any fairer.

There is always lots of luck in knockout tournaments thats what makes them so exciting to play.
