There are some small islands in fron of Marseilles, with one of them holding a renaissance alcatraz, called "le chateau d'if". I know he was held prisonner there for some time. It s said it was some kind of noble man. Maybe the Marquis de Sade, who wrote stuff that went beyond pornography?
