Truces with 3 players

Post by Vlasov »

This is a question, not an accusation (if I should have posted this somewhere else, please tell me where).

Another player told me that the rules forbid making or maintaining truces if there are only 3 players left in a (non-team) game. Is that somewhere in the rules?

In my experience, when 3 players are left, it's common for the two weaker players to make a temporary truce with each other so they can both fight the strongest player, at least until the players are "equalized"...

Conquer Club Discussion is the correct forum .. (moved on behalf of the Cheating Team)

Diplomacy is a part of the game and there are no rules that forbid you from making truces as long as all is discussed in the game chat.

Assuming if you're the 3rd, strong person, you're happy with the others allying against you, right?

Personally, I think it's a puss move

I would expect it.

But remember a good attack would eliminate me as the strongest person and make someone else that person. This might not sit well with the person who isn't that someone else who is still holding the short stick. Knowing that is going to happen isn't going make #3 super excited to take out #1 and hand the game to #2. Even with a truce, it's still complicated.

Whenever only 3 people are left, with roughly equal strength, quite often the two (temporarily) weaker players will refrain from attacking each other for a little while, until the #1 player is reduced. It's kind of like an unofficial cease-fire. As Tzor said, it can get complicated.

take it as a compliment that it would take 3 players teaming up together to beat you.... if that is the scenario you are in
