If you only have 1 rating as all 1's and get tagged as a team killer despite not playing doubles or doing secret diplomacy it kind of sucks.

It's kind of like smiling at a woman in a bar and not thinking anything of it and she accuses you of having a small penis and date raping her - WTF?!?

Before you know it some next a-hole is citing that rating as evidence that you're a bad person and it cascades.

If it's humanly possible can people leave positive ratings where deserved to mitigate the effect of these griever ranting raters, thanks.

The only way I use ratings is to see what you have given out. If you have a low rating, then I will check out what you give to others. If you give crap ratings to others then I will assume you deserve the ratings you have. If you give good ratings, then I will ignore what you have been given. And as several have already said, eventually you will have so many ratings that you can ignore them. No single a-hole can swing your ratings at that point.

Although some people might feel more compelled to leave ratings to warn people away form shitty players rather than to give 5* ratings to people who just took their turns silently once every 13-14 hours.

The stars are fully coloured-in when it's a fresh rating (hasn't been archived yet.) Once it's been archived, the star changes to half-coloured.

Games are archived after five days. During those five days you can still change your mind about ratings. You can also still make comments in chat, in case you are still discussing the game with someone. After five days, the game is archived and both chat and ratings are frozen.

Of course, if you play someone again, you can give them a new rating and it overwrites the previous one, but the old game remains archived.

Back when they switched from the glorious system of user feedback to the shitty 5 star rating system, I remember trying to use the 3 star is average system and people lost their shit.
