Perhaps, but at this point I think it's just as likely theres an over-zealous vig or maybe it was an SK and the mafia either didn't kill or their kill was role-blocked or the target was protected.

The latter 2 suggestions are unlikely as not much info has been divulged yet, but they are possibilities.

There definitely could be an SK in this game, it's usually one of the first independent roles implemented (along with Survivor) from what I've seen, but it's unlikely with this theme.

About who killed him, the possibilities seem pretty open, but if it's a vig he's pretty rough for acting so early. Considering the number of players it seems more likely there's a vig than a SK no? As said Kalish, SK would seem weird in this theme in any case...

Since the night was pretty damn long it's also possible someone simply didn't send night choices. Unfortunately I don't think we can gather much info from this kill overall...

I'll wait for more reactions and check what PCM did on Day 1 to see if there's any clue a bit later.
