Waves can be modelled by math concepts but are not math concepts themselves. They are ab extra of math and are physical reality. Your conclusion is fallacious.

Music theory is a class that is offered. I haven't taken it but it seemed to be billed as being able to explain why some composers are successful. Almost reaching to say that if you could just follow these rules or concepts you can be successful too. Seems a stretch to me.

I never said they were math concepts I said they were math. Music concepts are basically math concepts. (And a generally limited set of math at that.)
