As far as I am aware, you only get a resign button on trench games where your troop count is below a certain percentage (almost no chance of winning). But yes, it's a thing. =)

not an option in multiplayers, or in team game ones.
as stated above, it is given to be an option at the very point of no return but lose is certain.

Yep,multiplayer games would be cocktail for disaster...but I hope all the other 1 v1 games (i.e not just trench) get the same option soon.
