Home grown peppers?

Ah. I would not have been surprised if he was a botanist.

However, I am also not surprised he seems oblivious to some of the purposes of international customs checks.

I did not have expectations either way.

I have successfully harvested my first Jalafuego!

According to the Internet is is quite undersized.
At approximately 2 inches, half the expected size.

Chopped it, grilled it and ate it with some hash-browns. It seemed slightly less hot than a regular green jalapeño to me but it's been a while since I had a fresh one.

Production is up this year. Two more Jalafuego peppers grew. One deformed and split so I composted it.

Last week I harvested one. It's awaiting consumption. Might make a very small batch of hot sauce. There is currently a fourth one growing.

UPDATE: We made the thick chunky sauce. I chopped the pepper by hand. Fortunately it's pretty mild, I touched my eye at least twice.

Our neighbour gave us two pepper plants. So far, one of them has produced a pepper. The other is still thinking about it.

My daughter is excited beyond belief to find out she has a green thumb.

It would have another but when I went to pollinate the thing the other flower broke off.

I don't know where we would cook if I grew enough plants to produce 24 peppers in our kitchen.

Blueberry pepper jelly sounds pretty good. I'm hoping the border opens but I don't know if my family is ready to travel.
