PROTEST!!!! Best tournament ever!!!! Just a couple changes to keep it going!!!! Come on, Big Wham, make the 2 changes that have been requested!!!! We are loyal to CC and ask for your loyalty to us!!!!
I am a 15 year premium member of CC with more than 10k games played. I was bored with the site and ready to move on when I joined the oddly promoted SBSL Super League. I really had no clue what it was about. There is no question that this tournament is the most exciting thing I’ve done in CC in my 15 years and that without it I will likely finally abandon CC and focus on real life. Inasmuch I fully support eliminating this captivating tournament so that I can get on with real life.
Like many have stated already in this thread, the super league tournament is by far the best format on here and is (certainly in my case) the main reason for logging on every day.
I would think the improvements outlined could also be used for enhancing other tournament formats like clan matches - there's no end to the myriad of singles, doubles & quad set ups that could be all automated from Excel with each matchup victor(s) gaining a point for their team. From there we could also have a structured team league to co-exist with the singles format of the current super league. Think big, bringing these kind of automated improvements and features to a team format would no doubt amplify the sense of community and entice /retain more members. Having the ability to view live tables online instead of downloading the excel is the next step, once that is nailed the interest will be massive.
I can't thank Craig & the other organizers enough for the time and effort they've put in, it's very much appreciated.
Protest. Like many of the earlier comments, this tournament is really good and has increased my interest in CC. Surely there has to be a way of encouraging this rather than just ignoring it?
You guys would know best how to work with CC - but the only protest that is going to affect CC at all is one that affects their pocketbook.
Sure, we could all email the administrator once a day until he breaks or something like that, but unless people are willing to drop their full subscription in protest, they will have no reason to change anything.
How long has it actually been since they have done much of anything really? We don't even have a resign feature yet - something the game has needed for eons.
But if you choose a protest, I'll join in as best I can.
CC is a top-down organization. Protests just cause anger all around. You have great Ideas, Craig. The best innovative suggestions should be refined and kept easy for Big Wham to find, so he can code them if he feels like doing so, but ultimately, he will do little and only if it's easy for him. So there's no sense getting overly worked up about this stuff.
