Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, duck or goose?

Post by HitRed »

Will you be feasting on turkey, duck or goose? Take the poll.

Never really got into this holiday, but if I did, I would prefer goose.

Yeah, it's an American thang.

In all my years, I've never seen anyone have goose or duck. We eat that fresh after hunting (like quail, hun, pheasant, chukar, grouse) but it's not readily available in stores or popular...again, in my experience.

And since it's here....

I have always done 90% of the cooking for our family. TG is a big one - since covid, we've stayed home (not the full day travelling to two giant family gatherings) and I LOVE that. We have all decided to keep this method....we see our extended families a lot already

There's 7 of us this year...cooked all day yesterday. Ready to start again this morning. I made / am making: turkey breast, boneless ham, a massive gourmet scratch Mac N cheese, fresh green bean casserole, 8 lbs of cream cheese smashed taters, scratch stuffing and 2 kinds of gravy. Bride making pistachio pudding (ugh) and eldest son made a beautiful scratch apple pie.

Can't wait for the fukkin food coma baby :D Happy TG to those of you that partake......

Dang, generalize much? No one in my family are fat, thanks for your concern, you simpering, overly polite, poutine guzzling whimp.

Generalizing is fun.

A Goose is better suited for a human phallus than a turkey or a duck.
