Hopefully!

While McCarthy was still looking very vulnerable, around the 6th or 7th ballot, some moderate Democrats should have voted for him and put him over the top. Having him owe a favour to some moderate Democrats and owe no favours to the Freedom Caucus would have been potentially a very useful lever for the upcoming session. It's not the kind of favour that would change the world, but it could be just enough in some clutch situation to carry the day.
I tend to sympathize more with the intentions of the Democrats, but over and over again Republicans show themselves to be simply better at playing the game.

Pathetic. And the agenda of the Right who won is to shut down the government later this year .

I don't disagree with the general sentiment but i think in this case no there was no upside to dems 'bailing mccarthy out'. He's already really really far right, and any votes from dems probably would have hurt him (within his party) more than it would have helped/been appreciated.

We need more passionate disagreement like this. Meanwhile, on the Democratic side of the aisle, it's 212 robots who obediently follow the leader and meekly do as they're told.

I was multitasking during the votes!
Good call on the chairmanship. Rogers is supposed to get Homeland Security but Gaetz will need to get on it if he wants to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas every month like he claims.
Look at poor little RINO Patrick McHenry down there in his bowtie. He looks like he was on his way to Bible Camp and accidentally ended up in Tijuana's red light district. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HOUSE IS SWOLE BOYS TERRITORY, PAT.
