Apologies last week for being absent, but was a quite a busy week for me. had 2 Concerts, had to do the planing for Clan League, and was last week before an election and unfortunatelly the outcome was not the best one. And also I was getting tired of all the nonsese.

Anyway, why am I voting Sonic? - Mainly 2 reasons: I think he has changed his playstyle a bit from D1 to D2. Even tho his target is the same (Me). In D1 he said things like:

But a combo of that strategy and finding something "off" should get a slightly better result. Hence my vote for Traf.

For me it's Traf or Deg.

Traf because he jumped away from the BT.

Only Traf really wanted to avoid the BT, that is all we have after 6 days.

I do want to know the Traf situation however. Atm Its 10 % im right for sure.. but i believe its more like 18%..

I still have that feeling Traf is very invested in this game because he might be the Thing. And the argument saying "im not the Thing so a BT on me is a wasted one for town" is exactly what the Thing would say too..so sticking to that argument is the real bs.

And all of his post on D1 were like it. Always on me, but as you can see, saying it was more of hunch or just cause why not or whatever.

But on day 2:

Look Traf is the only player that made strange moves to me.

First he was active until his "lets not BT Pixar but somebody else" post.

Traf is always very calculated and wants to be sure on anything before he acts.

But he admitted later that he had no idea 'to be honest" who that other person to BT should be?

This is not Traf his style. Why would Traf say something like that "test somebody else" if he doesnt even know who that "somebody else is"?

It's by itself very unlike Traf. Saying "test somebody else" but not knowing who or why.

It does not make any sense to me Traf says something like this, unless its a strategy meaning he is the Thing and he wants to score good creds.

Then later on he had an emotial outburst. The only time i notice emotional outbursts on Traf is when he is about to lose a game..Why did he have that emotional outburst?

Then after that he went through different stages : being very silent, making fun of the comments (what is also a very good defence strategy) before finally sheeping behind Deg. Also he could have hammered me on the lynch vote but he did not.

I think he did not because he knows he would be hammering himself for BT on D2 that way.

And why would you be afraid of a BT?

Also, by elemination, i don't think the others are the Thing either.. And if you think 9 are not and it's only 10 players then..yes again it must be Traf.

For all these reasons i wanted to BT Traf today. It was a good choice to me: if he is The Thing we would have won and if he's not we have an experienced player that can plot the lines for D2.

Like if someone is town and you dont have real indo why would you say something like If "I'm wrong you can lynch me tomorrow" If you know you are town and you miss you gonna get 2 townies killed. Of course I dont expect Sonic to be all logical, but this is very silly to me.

Votanic - I do think people like to look into flavour - I don't see nothing wrong with it as long as u know game its not the same as the original source. And Regian lying about the movie was something to look at. So I dont think its Votanic, but if Rag says its Votanic and can say its not out of spite, then might vote him.

Swang and Strike - Both not much intel but i trust them a bit more than the above.

Deg - No recruiter
Rag - town for today not recruiter.

Wow, that is really not true Traf, if you go back and look, in this game I mostly agreed with Strike and Swang, their posts made more sense to me than any of the others in this game. Thank you for replying with your reason, Charle. Once again, to my chagrin, I seem to be rubbing people the wrong way. I actually thought of myself as playing in a light-heartedm fun manner, with joking, flavor chat, etc... but this does not seem to be how am I perceived. So even though explaining the joke also kill the jokes, I will try to be a responsible town citizen and tone it down a bit.

I definitely think I accidentally pissed off Ragian, first by talking about flavor and then catching him in a lie (probably an inconsequential white lie). That is why he replies like this...

Maybe I'm not getting his sense of humor, but calling me arrogant an misrepresenting just sounds like he feels like I insulted him somehow...

Even that exchange I had with Strikewolf was meant to come off as a joke, not real anger. It just seemed funny to me that he implied I wasn't even good enough for the Thing to convert me.

Lesson learned: Irony/sarcasm/camp is hard enough to convey in regular online forum chat, in mafia/cult games it may be almost impossible.

To me, that just comes off as some dry humor, on Traf's part. Besides, we all will often address other people as town even though have doubts.
Additionally, in the case of Sonic, the criticism he has earned as a bad townie is at least equal to that of being potential scum.
I've already admitted I'm voting for him without being 100% that he is a Thing, but unless more solid evidence is presented that directs me elsewhere, he remains my best bet.

So basically if a player doesn't want to be perceived as scum he should never: 1) be among the the loudest 20%, 2) nor among the quietest 20%, 3) tell jokes, 4) talk about flavor, or 5) get into spats with other players, playfully or otherwise. The irony (that again) of all this, is that the Thing probably knows this better than any of us and never does any of these supposed scum-tells.

You say you noticed a small change in my play style D1 to D2 and that makes you think im recruited (while still going for you)?. First of all, we are looking for the original Thing, not the recruit so why lynching me if you think im just the recruit? Doesn't make sense if your town.

Then how about your change in play style D1/D2? Being on the defensive for so long, not searching for the Thing once, being so absent and quiet after your emotional outburst.. Only Now, when Charle, Strike are thinking to lynch you and Swang already voted to do it, you get superactive all the sudden trying to deflect the lynch on me "as the recruit". Because you know you can't sell it as being the Thing.

If i was the Thing or recruit that would not be the case. Me "mumble things when i see im wrong" (your quote) can only be true if im town..

But your voting for me so if that is a genuine vote (and a true vote) you must think/believe im the Thing. You would not say " I want him to mumble things when he sees he is wrong." at the same time.

I have given my list of suspects. And I actually eblieve you slightly changed D1 to D2 game play.

I am willing to Lynch Sonic (As jsut mentioned I thing he went for a more aggressive D2 playstile), Charle (Jumping into every bandwagon) or even EW (I agree with strike the thing might try to recruit a smart player) All of them voted for Rag and I think the thing or the converted or both voted for someone to BT as they need it in order to not being bted themselves. I don't think Votanic is the thing but if deadline approach and rag have more insight on him then I might lynch him

It's really difficult to have proof in a mafia game unless there's a confirmed cop.

I also want to say my 2c on the "who would a recruiter recruit". I've been thinking a bit more about it. The entirety of day 1 we have discussed whom of the more experienced players we should BT, and Sonic even came up with his game-solving masterstrat (wording not mine) involving planned BTs among the more experienced and active people. For a recruiter it would make sense imo to recruit a less-experienced player who is less likely to be BTd on night 1, and for night 2 to recruit Dega or Rag.

Vot disagreed a lot with Son!c from day 1. So recruit, recruiter, town that at least has been consistent.

This also could have been a reason to recruit the other, and playing this up to maintain credibilty. Probably overthinking it thuogh, esp with Sonic in the mix.

This is my second mafia game. I learned in the first game that the downside of searching means you get suspected BIG TIME. Got no problem there as im confident i can explain all my actions when needed.
ALSO, not searching is achieving nothing in my book..

But: the n1 question is: does searching outweighs confusing town? Searching (rubbing / scratching) IS attracting a lot of heat..and confuses town a lot apparently.. like Swang and Strike's latest post..

What is the alternative? Not searching , rubbing it and coasting along? Not posting for days/weeks?

That is mostly a you problem tbf. Genuine scumhunting attempts with solid reasoning will help you be read town in most books, like strike. Confusing town on purpose is just not being part of town, and will attract more heat.

A bummer this post was after strike had already posted but this is a good post imo, takes a strong stance even if I disagree with plenty of it.

This is... true and also seems very tunneled from Sonic. I'm not sure if this is an actual Traf mistake, Sonic grasping at straws and making this bigger than it is, or both. Traf responded to it in depth rather than ignoring it, so I think it's either 1 or 3.

Now where does that put me? Sonic and Traf have both been on my list of suspects, Sonic doubly so because he likes to confuse town. I think "lynch traf and if he's wrong vig sonic" is a fine move.
