Duk. you seem to be forgetting the fundamental principles of a Troll-Hunter.
Once a Troll-Hunter locates and identifies one or more trolls, he must then be on his highest alert.
Anything one deigns to say to a troll must be guarded and firm in its resolve. What one should never do is try to communicate with them on their own treacherous and debased terms.
Anyone got any Forum-affiliated nicknames for these three trolls? Hmm, I might even have a few notions about that myself...
