When I wen, the bars closed really early. Might be different now.

Now that you mention it. I don't know if I have been in any bars in France. I went to a couple of Pubs in England on my first trip but none on the second.

I suspect trying to negotiate the drink selections with my limited French language skills might be frustrating.

There's also Finisterre in Spain, which is where people doing pilgrimages along the north coast end up.

Brittany is nice but I don't know what to say about it tbh. You'd possibly be better off in the region around Marseilles, I feel like you could be more sure of good weather there. Or somewhere like Corsica or Sicily.
