The CIA has been exposed running a large-scale social media misinformation campaign urged at persuading Phillipinos not to take COVID vaccines or wear face masks:

Hundreds of CIA Twitter accounts (pretending to be Phillipino citizens) have subsequently been banned, as have numerous Facebook accounts. Assuming this campaign was successful countless Philippinos will have died as a result of COVID spreading to unprotected people.

The CIA has subsequently given a new $500million contract to the organisation it used to run its campaigns so that it can continue spreading misinformation around the globe.
