Latest news: Lex "f*ck knows what ive done'" Luthor promised me he will return CCSL in 2 months time..and his ban will end after 24h.. Perhaps you have more succes than me to shorten that period.. Because two months is pretty long in wintertime...

Even though you're Scottish I've been fully supportive of yourself and the Super League team over my time playing.

One or two things concern me though. Whilst I understand your frustrations with the said "foe" I don't think you should be using the threat to halt/delay the Super League as part of your strategy. Just foe and ignore the guy, instead of putting the 300 or so Super League players through this. Most that play here enjoy the format so much and it's a shame its come to this.

Secondly, whatever the outcome, it does concern me that the whole running of the league can be pulled/halted by just one person, whoever that is. Going forward I think that is an issue that needs to be addressed if the league is to continue long term.

I really hope that this issue is resolved. I'll played in, and seen, many leagues disappear over the years, not just here in Conquer Club, but on the MS Zone, Borat and Gamespy and nevertheless life moves on. I for one, would n't leave CC if the Super League was to disappear. I enjoy playing the game to much for that, and was a member before joining the league anyway. However, it would remove a great part of the enjoyment.

Amazing that between all the member running the excel spreadsheet, none of them thought about saving a copy so when Mr. Ego decide to stop everything because his butt got hurt then hundreds of players have to suffer from it.

I did say this in the past, this Leagie can be run without him, while he brought the concept and he is the one sending the update PM, the ones who are making the game launching and the board evolving are the others who never come here to play the “cry baby” time.

Hope once and for all someone will have the brain to save a copy and move on so when Craig decide to breakdown, at least the tournament would still going…I’ve said that many time in the past while I was dealing with this problem child.

I’m sorry for the loss of your dad. Many of us have been there and have some idea of what you’re going through.
Thanks too for all the hard work that you and others have put in to making Superleague one of the best tournaments on CC.
For myself, I look forward to the games nearly every day, checking the tables to see how things are going, will it be a promotion or demotion or just ok this season.
For the sake of all who have played and contributed to this league; for all who have taken the time to think about and vote on how it’s played and its composition; I hope that you will be big enough to rise above whatever beef you have with the organisers and Swimmerdude and carry on with the league as well as the banter when you feel up to it again as I’m sure you will!

I’ve been an active member here for 15 years, and I’m in my second season of CCSL and absolutely loving it! Craig is a lot of fun and I appreciate all of the work he and others do to make this tourney happen! Is Craig perfect? No! Is he brutally honest and completely tactless in acknowledging or calling out excellent or horrible play? Yes! If you don’t like it, don’t join the tourney. Please, everyone involved in this conflict let cooler heads prevail so that some 300 of us who enjoy this tourney can get back to the business of scudding each other be they friends, enemies or newbies! I have very limited understanding of what exactly happened to cause everything to hit the fan, but Id like to advice all parties to have a look in the mirror and see if there is an adult in there looking back. - If so, then have a reread and a rethink and if people are still convinced that the other guy/side is/are arseholes, then simply agree not to talk to or about each other. Failing that, there is a FOE option and the possibility to simply ignore people that rightly or wrongly pisses one off..

Absolutely the most adult take on this forum. My favorite part of all this is, of course, that Craig had the offending party, Swimmer, on his foe list previously. This means Craig had to notice Swimmer's posts, intentionally click on them, read them and get offended. People go to all lengths to get offended, I suppose.

Offence can only ever be taken, never given.

CCSL is an amazing endeavour. Craig has done fantastic work and I want to support him. But this must be the 4th time he's threatened to derail the league because he cant' get on with the volunteers who run this amazing site.

Craig has a clearly defined history of attacking and making things miserable for those he does not like. We have lost multiple mods who put in hours of work in various areas of the site in part due to the drama caused by Craig.

Super League is an important tournament, and like many important events on CC before it, it would likely be best run by the mod team to ensure its stability. The fact that its organizer is threatening to shut it down simply because he does not get his way in a forum moderation decision is ridiculous.

On the contrary, I think CC and the mods really supported it. Who do you think provided all the winning credits, extra medals, etc? Most normal member ran tourneys dont get those.

You know as well as me that they only grant credits, but they could make much more. The SL's banner almost never was in the central page, except in some seasons and it had already been retired before the problem with Craig. They never made an announcement related to it. All the structure of the tournament, which I find admirable, has been done by Craig and other members, not by the official team of CC. I think that a tournament that is in its 23th iteration, with round 300 players, should receive more attention by CC. It has a great advantage over other tournaments: even bad players like me know that they always will have a chance next time to try to get better. Most of the tournaments here are made by and for specialists, and if you lose two or three gamex you are already eliminated. In this sense, the SL is the most democratic of them, and it fills a gap in that there should be a tournament that always happens in some interval, like the NBA, the ATP, the football leagues, etc.

To be 100% clear, the Super League is NOT gone, it has been put on HOLD because Craig has chosen to do so. It wasn't the decision of any mods to put the league on hold, but Craig's completely. I feel it's a bit rude to not be understanding of that when you claim that the Super League has been your best experience on the site.

While I absolutely hope that people message Craig and offer him kind words (he did just lose his father) and encouragement to reinstate the league in 2 months, please respect his choice and give him those 2 months.


PS: I am the only mod on the site that worries about Clan League, trust me.

Your arguement kind of falls apart at this point, my dude. Is it a great tourrnament? Sure. Does that give you the right to insult other members on the forums, insult people via PM's, ask for harsh penalties against others (for, let's be clear, absolutely nothing against the rules), all while demanding that your insults be forgiven? Absolutely not.

Fair, he made a cool tournament. Let's hope someone was paying attention because when he does eventually throw a fit worthy of a longer ban (and he will), someone will need to pick it up. Because, as it turns out, he breaks the rules a lot, and has been given a lot of rope. Eventually, all trolls hang themselves. I did once, was escorted off the site for 8(?) years, and outside of the Flame Wars forums, I was only about half as bad as Craig.

CCSL is a great fun tournament and its one reason I stay with CC. We are here for fun and challenges that the maps and opposition bring. I hope CC resolves the issue quickly and we all can go back to fun and with friendship. Craig and team thanks for all your work looking forward to the fun returning!

I have remained silent on this, mainly because I didn't want to cause more friction.

I believe that Craig and his team have done an amazing service for this site with the CCSL. It is totally their project and despite what people say the mods have no intention of taking that over. As for the disrespect by the mods, I can only speak for myself. As tournament director I have worked closely with Craig. Never had any issue. But, to say I do not support Craig and his team is completely false. I have given more than Craig and his team have asked for, though not everything has been possible. I am sure even Craig would vouch for this.

I understand the support for Craig and the CCSL, but I see a lot of responses that are based on half truths. I understand the support for Craig and the CCSL, but there has been a lot that has happened behind the scenes. I understand Craig's frustration and the fact that he feels disrespected. But at the end we all have to move on and the 300 CCSL players are the ones that are affected by the CCSL not moving forward.

I really hope we can move on for this, respect one another and work together to keep this event going.
