Duk pointed out that the plan was to utilize the already scheduled Space X return.
That there was no need for a rushed “rescue” mission. Duk mentioned the fact that an unscheduled “rescue” mission would add tremendous and unnecessary cost. I would also suggest that squeezing in another launch actually creates MORE risk to the lives and safety of the Astronauts than using an already scheduled and planned mission.

Others on here and in the media imply that these two Astronauts were “abandoned”. I refuted that pointing out the fact that there were other Astronaughts on board, that they had ample supplies, and that they knew these risks when they signed up. A mission to space is not the same as a day cruise. These people are explorers and like explorer of yore they understand (and often revel in) those risks.

Now… givens this. Please either refute these points… OR explain why NASA had “no priority, no desire, no push, and no motivation for their return any sooner” was bad? If going sooner in a rushed manner creates problems and risks… and there’s no BURNING NEED to go sooner… why should they?

You failed to address that the Trumpist narrative of desperate astronauts abandoned in space and waiting for Trump to rescue them was a completely bullshit narrative.

They were not abandoned, they were not in any special danger, other than the normal dangers of spaceflight. They could have returned on the Starliner but it was decided (probably by operational people at Nasa and not by politicians) that the prudent thing to do would be to bring them back on the next scheduled crew flight on a spacecraft with a more proven record than the experimental craft they went up on. At no point were they "abandoned". They were supported, fed, in communication, etc., at all times, and their return date was established within a narrow range.

Did it ever occur to you that that quote was so imbedded that I could NOT quote ALL of it, as I wanted to and as you INSIST that I do? It reached its limit of 6. Thus INSTEAD I made quotes to capture the essences of what was SAID and I responded accordingly. I think you are out of practice with quoting quotes.
