Well there is no association with Mafia here, as far as I can see the ones who are aligning against me are most likely Mafia sheep following what the Don orders. I'm surprised at chan and max I thought they were upstanding citizens but clearly not

Okay so being a complete newb at this Mafia game stuff (seriously, I thought we were actually going to be playing on the prohibition Chicago map and rolling fake dice to lynch each other, when I signed up for this). Let's just say research is not my strong point.
So feeling a little lost, I was planning on biding my time, hiding in my townhouse, until someone said something, anything that might help me Identify the scum. However I eventually noted that the general advice seemed to be not to be a lurker, staying silent would be a sure sign of scum. So in a blind panic I rushed in and placed my vote, using the very well-known and much loved game mechanic of Luck versus Bad Luck as my only form of logic.
After all the comments suggested voting and provoking a reaction was better that not voting at all. The problem is my vote provoked absolutely zero reactions and left me no better off or knowledgeable a townsperson that I was before the vote.
However I have been picking over the comments looking for any hint at where the true scum maybe hiding. Even a quick browse of the forums and scanning our chat would leave me to believe the that staying silent, saying nothing, Being a peaceful quiet dude would likely indicate SCUM
So Why then, did I find this quote from Halrob

I find the ones who shout loudest have most to hide, I might ask what you have been doing chanakam2020?

Just to be clear. I play this game version and not any earlier games ended long ago or one week ago. If one wants to state anything referring to earlier games then I'm not interested. Other games than this game, they are irrelevant => what you've said referring to this game, it holds in this game. What you've said referring to other games, it doesn't hold in this game.

For each time I roll one perfect dice it will be 1/6 for the digit 4 to appear.

I'd like everybody to back down on Halrobb. He is close to getting lynched..

2 scenario's are in play : he is scum or he is not. It's that simple.

If scum (and false claiming town cop) his days are numbered.

If town and telling the truth he is our cop and needs protection.

I agree he looks like he shot himself in the foot while holding the smoking gun. BUT:

If Halrob is town or 3P : scum will be all over him tonight. Even if he is just false claiming town cop as town vanilla or 3P AND lying that he is cop : it's a great decoy that scum cannot afford to miss out tonight.

It's win win for town in every possible scenario with Halrob alive for now. 13 players: scum is out there. Hiding. Let's play smart.

13 players can definitely mean 3 mafia with high power in town roles compared to wolf roles.

3 mafia 1 third party can exist but the third party is more likely to have a wincon that aligns more with town. I guess in theory serial killers are always popular, and those can also kill mafia.

If we have a cop I am expecting to also have a protective at the very least. I think it's unlikely we have a killing role, but definitely possible. Probably a roleblock + protective role. Roleblock may also be a protective role that just roleblocks on top of it (jailkeeper).

Idk what mafia would have. Likely a roleblock but I can also see a role cop work. If 3 mafia I dont think a redirector fits, it's too much power. A framer (makes someone come up as guilty for that night only) may be possible, idk if Charle has said at any point whether this game was bastard.

2 mafia seems very unlikely. Could be two different scum parties, but I think that would have been announced. My money is on 3 mafia, no third party.

Sonic is absolutely right that we shouldnt be lynching a cop claim. They will resolve and if they overstay their welcome, we lynch them.

I always find speculation on set up to be on the scummier side since it takes away any meaningful discussion. But we have some newer players, so ill throw my two cents.
Given the player count, you could have 3 maf, maybe even 4. Or have something crazy like 2 mafia, 2 yakuza or whatever. I want to say the possibility of a 3p is unlikely, due to the difficulty of it and that's hard to ask for something like this, at least, in my opinion. I think 3 mafia is a pretty safe bet without making town overpowered, or if it's just 2, they're going to be overtuned to compensate an uphill battle.
Again, i find this type of discussion silly. It's D1, nothing had unfolded, this is better suited for D2.

The question remains of the others Devante, DDS, Kong, and reposing it to hjelp but maybe not Devon.

Halrob, was looking under pressure and quite possibly guilty, before his claim (and still might be).
So why were you not the fifth vote on Halrob?

And Halrob - Max's 5th vote on you in the circumstances is some evidence (to me at least) that Max is town.
And Devon's 5th vote on you - taken at face value from a newbie - might be some evidence that he is town.

I think I would lean more towards Mafia for Max, the other person who is suspect is Chanakam, as a mod in civilian life he could be a snitch for the authorities running the show but all will be clearer when night falls and questions can be answered

Town isn't perfect. Neither are wolves, but wolves know 100% whether Halrob's claim is true or not.

I'm throwing Loose in the town bin because I dont follow what he's getting at about the 5th vote, it feels like such a weird thing to focus on if mafia.

Sonic/hjelp get a day 1 pass at the very least. Both contribute to the conversations and the game.

Having said that voting Halrob after claim isnt necessarily scum...

I argued against that - so the four votes thing was a topic of conversation highlighted by argument.

Town didn't/doesn't know if Halrob is Town.
Mafia wouldn't want to vote for mafia as fifth vote.
Mafia might not mind voting for town as fifth vote ordinarily but might keep their powder dry about being the fifth vote, with the backdrop of the highlighted conversation, so as not to draw attention to themselves.
Town wants to hunt out mafia though and so doesn't care so much if they draw some heat themselves for their actions - town knows that their actions (right or wrong) came from an honest place - and therein they always have a defence against mislynch if they can demonstrate honesty.

So the question stands of those who did not place the fifth vote in the circumstances when Halrob was breadcrumbing - why not?

Yet I note that thus far you have opted to question the question.

Hm, got a free time to read stuff and think about the current situation.

About halrob ,
I am still in doubt about his claim. He did not declare his exact role. (please correct me if I am wrong) . He told some cryptic things implying he is holding a special power role in the town. (Or majority of us believe so)

But his “I am the law in this town” statement remind me famous “L'État, c'est moi” (I am the state) statement by infamous King Louis XIV. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27%C3%8 ... %27est_moi )
It sound more like Dictatorship or Mafia Don kind statement who rule the town by his own law,
rather than a
Statement of a law abiding officer.
So finger crossed.

But it has 50/50 chance he to be a cop or a other usefull power role for town.
So I think it is better not to take a risk at first day and I think to give him the Benefit of the doubt.

If he is telling lie we can find it on day 2 or 3 by identifying a mismatch of his claims about power role related action

Then again I have question and I dont know how to do math for it.
Given we have 13 players and some of us will not be alive by day 3 will it be too late to lynch hal in case if he told a lie and killed some of us on day 1 and day 2 night ?
