His lyrics make sense and can't be contested. I've heard Public Enemy and they don't have what it takes to capture everyone's attention or interest. A Tribe Called Quest beg to differ though..
When did i once mention "Tu"pac? I think youve heard this before:
Go back and re-read.
And i believe this poll was meant to debate the best hip hop artist ever. Not listen to Psilocbin and treat what "it" says as God's. I can say whatever the hell i want: f*ck Eminem, his music blows. See, its debatable.
If you would grow a brain you would know I was talking about relating to Tupac. Once again, I will tell you, leave, we have no room for idiots here.
After 2001 Eminem sucked producer penis. I added him up there because I noticed how "popular" he was. Obviously every thread similar to this one will cause problems, can't we just choose from the options? I can't put them all....

I agree. I liked his first 2 albums. When he was still angry and used his emotion... But now, like most become, he's mediocre/below average. The money has become more important then the reason to make the song.
What single father can't relate to 97 Bonnie & Clyde though, or Kim...
I voted NWA but sadly miss the lack of Wu, Public Enemy De la Soul and Grandmaster Flash on the poll options (amidst many others...)
Any non-US groups worth a mention here? I know Guiscard's an advocate of the current UK scene and I've heard some cracking French hip-hop stuff myself and they have a huge scene going there (such as IAM and NTM). But could any non-Americans even make it to the poll options?

I doubt any UK hip-hop would, as legendary as certain artists are (Braintax, perhaps)... In the UK people just don't have the international scene with which to reach their full potential. Even the most underground US artist can rely on his music being heard potentially by millions throughout the world, whereas UK guys get heard by a minority of UK fans generally. As for French stuff, perhaps IAM should grace the list... Giants of the scene, but the giant hurdle is that the majority of anglophone fans (myself included) have no fucking clue what they're harping on about

Favorite group is Bone Thugs. I don't think Eternal E. 1999 can be contested. Rapper I would say 2Pac, All Eyez on Me is a classic. There are many good groups out there, but I can only think about one song that I like by them.

I also promote "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" as the 1990's greatest album by a female artist.
Good call. The Score is certainly a great album, possibly in the top 10 in terms of continuous quality (i.e. all killer no filler).
