Football (fake)

Post by unriggable »

right with the football season starting inthree weeks in US. i thought that everyone around the world could post how their teams are getting on. also who you support no matter what division they are in and what country. if it`s the eastern division get posting that aswell.

if you think your team are going to do well this season, put that down. also how much money spent and who they`ve bought and i you think how good they will do (the new players that is).

At least in "fake" football when you see someone writhing in pain on the ground it means they got hit. Ya know, I really do enjoy watching "real" football aside from all the pussy ass diving. I am actually a West Ham supporter.

As far as my favorite "fake" football team it would have to be the Washingot Redskins. I watched thier pre season debut against Tennessee. I really liked what I saw from Jason Campbell thier first year QB. That dude can fire a laser if the O line can keep him off his back. The defense looked nice too. Ladell Betts was only in the game for a few plays and Clinton Portis is out with a knee injury so I cant really comment on thier running game. The NFC East is hard to predict this year but I would say 1)Eagles 2)Skins (9-7) 3)Giants 4)Cowgirls.

He only started 6 games last year. This will be his first year as the named starter.

Ya they did get crushed but they always seem to find a way in the regular season to turn it on. Did McNabb or Westbrook even play against the Ravens?

San Diego Chargers are the best team in the NFL. they will be 14-2 in the regular season, with LT, Antonio Gates, Shawne Merriman, Quentin Jammer, Michael Turner, Lorenzo Neal, Vincent Jackson, Eric Parker. We are under new coaching staff but that should not affect the game too much.

GO CHARGERS :D :) 8) :P    =D> [-o< O:) \:D/

Ok, the 49ers, heres my take:

Great young QB in Alex Smith. He will only get better, not to mention he completed a pass on Champ Bailey (FYI, Champ only had 4 completed passes on him the entire 06-07 season). Frank Gore will tear up any team he plays, the only question is, how many games will he play? Vernon Davis is the next great TE. He has all the physical and athletic abilities to be better than Antonio Gates. If he can be more like Marvin Harrison and less like TO with his attitude, he is all-pro. D-Jack, Battle, Hill, and Lelie will provide a good (not great) WR corp. The offensive line looks above average with Jennings, Allen, Heittman, Smiley, and Harris/Staley. The Defense looks to be improved in the secondary, but there D-line looks shaky. If Abruyo Franklin can stay healthy and anchor the D-line at DT, with Bryant Yound at DE, the line should be ok. The linebackers contain two of the fastest guys in the league, Willis and Lawson. Banta-Cain should get to the QB as should Brandon Moore and Manny Lawson. With Clements, Harris, and Spencer at CB, along with newly acquired Michael Lewis, the secondary should be above average.

49ers go 10-6 and into the playoffs.

Aw c'mon.
We all know The Steelers will be grabbing their 6th (yeah count 'em, 5 already) ring this year.
New coach aside, the game plan is the same.
Big Ben is back & healthy.
Fast Willie Parker will grab 1500+ yards.
Defense will dominate........ again.....

It won't hurt as much when the time comes at the end of the season if you all just accept it now.

Haha, anybody who mentions the pre-season as a predictor of the regular season goes on my "Ignore list for being stupid" List. Although, yes, the steelers do look pretty good. But nowhere near as good as the niners, who have, oh thats right, 5 RINGS and are due for another one in the next 3 years.

Hey, I like the way the Niners look this year too. The monday night game was the only preseason game ive watched from whistle to whistle all year. I am still not sold on Gore though. I wouldnt want to have to draft him third this year with his injury history.

I am sold on Gores talent, work-ethic, and play-making. Keep in mind he was the starter at the U ahead of both Willis McGahee and Clinton Portis BEFORE his injuries. Thats where I'm not sold, whether he can stay healthy or not for the whole season.

The Pats definately wont suck, with the additions they made this offseason. It really doesnt matter who won the Super Bowl, the Patriots always seem to be the team to beat.

Heres my Packers summary, MM10 style :D :

Their offense was fairly one sided last year, but hopefully theyve made the additions to change that. Favre is still an all-pro QB, just needs the talent he had in the 90's to excel (Freeman, Sharpe, any defense at all...). The running game is the big question, with the goddamn Bills selecting Marshawn Lynch in the draft  . But anyway, we have a veteran in Morency who showed promise last year, and Brandon Jackson is our hopeful running back of the future, and might be our path to success. Donald Driver is one of the most underrated WRs in the NFL, putting up huge stats under the radar, and Jennings showed some speed at #2. The offensive line is young, but is still a very good core as long as they stay healthy. The D Line will be okay, Kampman being a pro bowler last season and Justin Harrell (:x) hopefully wont be a flop. Linebackers are sick, with Barnett anchoring as a tackling machine, with Hawk and many other supporters leading the D. The secondary stepped it up 2nd half of the season, with Woodson grabbing 8 INTs, and Harris doing better than usual. Our safeties suck, Nick Collins and Marquand Manuel (who?).

Prediction: 9-7, wild card, still beating the 49ers with your biased record prediction.
