IGN: Does this pave the way for Sonic and Mario starring together in other games?

Laurent Fischer: We've spent a long time finalising this one and we're not thinking about the next game, just yet. The Olympics just seemed like the right way to bring them together.

IGN: So we won't see Sonic appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl?

Laurent Fischer: That's not on the cards at the moment.

I don't think we've got anything to worry about.

I think the Subspace Emissary is going to replace that entirely.

Maybe I'm just seeing things, but the enemies in the SE look a lot like creatures from Kingdom Hearts...

They're not exact, but it seems too close to be coincidental.

Oh, and how does everyone feel about the Animal Crossing character?
I've never played one, so I don't know how they might play.

I thought it was just the stage.

The stage, the songs, etc. In today's update he also mentioned a line about a hero arriving late. It was a direct reference to AC.

He's also given AC its own symbol (like a Pokeball for Pokemon). This is only done for characters, so one has to be in the making.

I saw that, but didn't think much of it.

In Animal Crossing, you have a couple of items you can hold, among them an ax, a shovel, a fishing rod, and a bug net. Maybe the fishing rod as an extended grab/ edge grab?

A fishing rod wouldn't do anything...the character wouldn't have any basic attacks.

They should have Waluigi in it. It's weird to have 3 of the 4 Mario bros in it.

I said what a fishing rod could do. And I'd bet money on him having an ax.

Waluigi doesn't have a game for himself. Plus, Wario's independent of Mario, hence the Wario Ware costume.

I think I heard some of the alternate costumes will be actual skins for the characters. Maybe Waluigi will make an appearance as an alternate to Luigi.
