WHAM! Appreciation Thread

Post by rocksolid »

So many people have complained how there's nowhere to talk about how great WHAM! was before that gloryhog George Michael started off on his solo career. I agree, the absence of this sort of thread here has been criminal. Well, no more. Appreciate away.

So what ever happened to the other guy? He was crashing race cars but ran out of money or something then went on to be a mod here?

Was his name Andy or am I mixing them up with 'Duran Duran'?

I think his birth name was Whatshisface McOtherguy, but he had it changed to Andrew Ridgeley for some odd reason.

I think you're thinking of Andy Taylor, the guitarist for Duran Duran who was in a side project called Power Station that blipped a bit when their drummer (Tony Thompson) almost killed himself in a car accident.

No your right I was thinking of Andrew Defresne (stage name Ridgeley).

After wham he went on to drive some class of race cars but lost his sponsors due to crashing them too often.

He then ended up virtually unknown sitting on a banana leaf someplace going on the internet.

I think that the Wham! appreciation threads were much better when this was the off-topic forum. It seems like the Wham! appreciation threads have gotten stupid ever since the forum's name was changed. Perhaps I'll start four or five threads and/or poles to bitch about it.

Wow that's some high level stupidity there.

You could click the link and find out, or maybe go out into the streets and start asking people you meet.

Yes, that would have been much more difficult than typing your question.

I understand your pain, 2dimes. After all, your guilty feet have got no rhythm, so it's perhaps for the best that you're not dancing in that condition. But I understand there's some sort of insect parasite that when inserted, Wrath-of-Khan-like, into your brain, will go a bang-bang-bang till your feet do the same, which should clear your problem right up.

UNBELIEVEABLE! WHAM for you lazy folks who lived in caves during the 1980's was a POP group from England with George Michaels and that "other guy".

You can have my creditcard baby, but keep your red hot fingers off of my heart lady. Yeah, and Wake me up before you Go Go. Careless whisper.

I had the WHAM Make It Big album. Loved it.
