Those Americans just don't know what tastes good. But then again, by now it's probably traditional not to drink tea in the USA. Ever since they tried and failed to make the worlds biggest cup of tea in Boston a few hundred years ago. The problem was that they were using sea water which is simply too salty and they had no adequate way of making it boil.
Just wanted the fish to enjoy such great British Tea is all.

I usually have a cup of milky coffee in the morning, half a Coke Zero at lunch, and a cup of Earl Grey at work in the afternoons. This is my usual caffeine intake.

I wonder, all you people from exotic lands who drink lots and lots of tea every day: How do you prepare it? What kind of tea? Do you make pots of it? Using TEA BAGS? I want in-depth details, please.

Well, all Indians who have tea make it in the saucepan. Boil water with tea bag, put milk in, serve when it rises.

I only drink tea, coffee sucks.

Tea bags usually, unless there are several people wanting a cup.

I use PG Tips tea bags.

I don't understand. Do you mean you have loose tea when there's several people? Wouldn't that make it even more of a hassle?

If Wales/Liverpool counts as exotic ...

To make a *good* cup tea:
1) Put fresh water in kettle
2) Boil kettle, leave it until the water is off the boil, pour into teapot

During this time:
1) Get 1 teaspoon full of loose leaf tea
2) Put tea in teapot

Then you pour the tea out, using a tea strainer if needed (some teapots have strainers built in)

Then, for teapot tea:
1) Pour milk into cup
2) Pour tea in to cup

But the other way round (tea first) if it's using a teabag straight in the cup.

Loose leaf tea tastes nicer than teabag tea and is generally a bit cheaper to boot. Just needs a bit more effort.

No, I didn't explain that very well.

I always use tea bags, if it's just for me or a couple of people I use 1 tea bag per cup, if there's 3 or more then 1 tea bag per person in a teapot.

Bet you're pleased that you got that sorted.

What about a nice mug of ale? A one or two a day is always a good idea and after 6 or 7 even the ugliest women look fantastic (...not that it happened to me)!

As for how to drink tea "correctly", well, I prefer my tea without milk, a small amount of honey can be a good thing at times, but tea with milk? No, that simply won't do for me.[/i]

1 cup of coffee in the morning, about once every 2 weeks. I prefer hot chocolate

I drank tea only twice. Not that great. I basicly drank it because of the substance in the tea that make blood harden better ( coagulates? ) * stupid teeth *

Otherwise...Dasani Strawberry water gets my vote.

Tried it once, couldn't stand its taste. :(
Should be a plain ol zero answer. :(

You tried "it" once? I hope you know that there is more than just one sort of tea. Even though it's all from the same plant the tastes can vary widely due to differences in the ways it is processed.

1. if im making one just boil the kettle and pour it in the cup with the teabag in add milk, wait for it to strengthen then put the tea bag in the bin.
2.We drink tetley tes
3.I make pots rarely for just me but always when guests are round.
4. yes teabags

no no no firth, take the tea bag out, then put the milk in and a flat teaspoon of sugar. i voted 2 depends on what shift i`m on. 6-2 have a cup at 5.15am with a bowl of cereal or toast.

PG tips for me, stuff your tetley`s where the sun don`t shine(Manchester).

So what kind of cups do you drink your tea out of? TEA CUPS? WITH SAUCERS?

I usually drink my tea out of Mason jars.

I drink about 3 cups a day on a college day - 4 if I brave the dish water that comes out of the vending machine in the cafeteria, and approximately 5 cups when I'm at home all day. If I go down to visit my folks in Yorkshire it can be almost double that - the kettle is rarely off the boil there!

Being a poor student (and a tight git to boot), I use what ever brand tea bags are on offer in store and failing that, stores own brand (Sainsbury's Red Label are quite good for the money), but never ever any of the basic or value ranges- I may be cheap, but I still have some standards!.

Always use tea bags, never loose (unless it's a speciality tea), and rarely make it in a teapot, no matter how many people I'm making it for.

One tea bag per mug, add water straight off the boil, leave for a minute, remove tea bag (WITHOUT stirring or squeezing the bag), add a dash of milk - not too much, stir, drink and enjoy! :)
