it was on the second mushroom kingdom map with the 2 gaps in it, he fell in when he tried to attack

Why not FD? It's the most fair stage to do these tournaments on... if I had known another map like Mushroom Kingdom (death for CPs, duh), I wouldn't have chosen Marth.

I must have blocked that part when I read it... I'm so accustomed to the standard tournament set-up with Melee.

In Torunament mode on melee, there is an option to have each stage different. that chooses a random stage for each battle.
