You'd think it would be someone like this, but i remember when he signed the deal...
It was Stephen Davis, anyone have that as the person that came to mind?
Don't take this the wrong way, but no effing way. Stephen Davis? Big bruiser running backs have the shelf life of a loaf of bread. I can't conceive that the Panthers gave him that much money... unless it was the Skins that gave him all that money, but even so, it sounds highly implausible.

WAIT A MINUTE, MY QUESTION HASN'T BEEN ANSWERED CORRECTLY YET! It was not McNabb, Davis, Baily, or Manning (Vick signed one 2, but he's not the answer)
I thought for sure Gold Knight would get this one, I guess not
since it's already too far, it was Brett Favre that's right people Brett Favre, if you don't belive me, follow the link

The Deal was for $90 million with incentives to give him at the most $145 million, it says so in the article, but since the Redskins cut him early (evidence by the article saying he'd be a Redskin through '08) He didn't earn those incentives, and only got $90 million, it says on the same site that Favre would be the first one to make 9 figures

The answer to MM!0's question has got to be Marino. I'm not quite sure what legitimacy that has as the question of record, moreover where this thread is going, but please, it's Marino.
Okay, things have gotten a bit off-track. Since cheesemore asked the last question, and there's some dispute as to the legitimacy of GK's answer, I hereby declare that cheesemore has to ask a new question, and all outstanding questions/answers are moot. However, cheese CANNOT ask a question that has anything to do with teams and players in the great state of Wisconsin.

Well, spurgistan is right with Marino, but according to incandenza, Cheesemore is up
the sticking point for me in cheesemore's question is this: the reported numbers for NFL contracts are moot. they aren't guaranteed, so neither Davis or Favre were ever actually going to receive $100 million. if Davis signed a contract worth up to $145 million before Favre did, it seems that should be the answer. after all, the question was "who was the first to sign" that big of a deal, not "who received $100 million first." if Davis signed his first, there ya go.....
and plus, it's not like he got $90 mill from the 'Skins after they cut him anyway, which cheese seemed to suggest. he got jack after being released (NFL union sucks balls apparently)

That's ultimately the problem with NFL contracts: there's no cut-and-dried number for how much actual physical money from said contract actually changed hands... so I figured that the fairest way of going about things was to let cheese ask a different question.

And according to you, the answer cannot be Ron Dayne

Im fairly sure that was the year Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, and Troy Aikman were taken, Aikman being #1, dont know about Deion or the other two picks...

congrats, we have three of the last 4
#1-Troy Aikman
#2-Unknown so far
#3-Deon or Barry Sanders (I forgot which)
#4-Derrik Thomas
#5 Deon or Barry Sanders
1 left, which means currently Gold Knight has found the most

I believe Barry was third, but dont take my word for it...
As for the second pick, I cant even think of anyone, it was probably a big lineman that know one would think of.

I'm not sure if he did that or not
but since no one has gotten it, I guess Gold Knight gets it for guessing 2 out of the 4
The #2 overall pick in the 1989 NFL draft was,.....
Tony Mandrich, thought of to be the greatest offensive tackle ever, but was a huge bust for the (Sorry about this) Green Bay Packers
