What is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile.

Death thought about it.

"cats" he said eventually "cats are nice"

By Terry Pratchett ,sourcery
Are there many things in this cool-hearted world so utterly exquisite
as the pure love of one woman for another?

If he didn't want to confuse English-speaking people like that, he shouldn't have had a girl's name.

And anyway, that link was a bit odd - how can Tesla be regarded as a "forgotten" scientist? He has a unit of measurement named after him!

What women's name?

Nikola was his first name, and Tesla surname. He was born in Croatia.
He is not really forgotten, but others claimed his patents as their own...
Anyway Did you encounter this measure before. But you did probably encountered Edison! And Marconi.

Film is called The Prestige, and it's a SciFi of some kind :? . David Bowie is playing Tesla.

But if you wanna see a true film about Tesla it's The Secret of Nikola Tesla (1980) with Orson Wells.

Croatian: Nikola (like St. Nicholas, or Nikolaj in Russia) man's name; Nikolina would be a woman's name.

I can understand your confusion. Just for the record Nikita in Russian (in Croatian Nikica) is a boy's name (little Nicholas). But they made a famous action film (and a tv show) about woman Nikita. You Americans....

Simonov wrote:slow down there Meggy. that last one i completely pulled out of context. that's Misfit's lyrics from song Last Caress played by Metallica on one of their Garage albums. i don't even remember when i quoted it. i'm sorry if anything i said insulted you.
p.s. you seriously have to learn to distinguish something that is said as a joke from serious comments or personal beliefs.

I'm not particularly insulted by anything you've said, no more than I am by the exact same stuff encountered nearly every moment of every day in my life. But I'd noticed a recent outbreak of anti-woman content in your posts. If you repeat it often enough it becomes true to you. Words have meaning. I really doubt you would find a joke about genocide in the Balkans funny enough to attempt to distinguish it from reality, BECAUSE IT IS REALITY, and so is the systematic and cultural oppression of women.

Now, if someone like, I don't know, jay, xtratabasco, Norse, or Stopper were spewing anti-woman mumbojumbo, I would take that a bit more in stride, ignore it. But you're a young man without any immediately apparent major personality flaws and in the midst of receiving an education (apparently mostly with women!!), and you can do better.

I've made one or two posts I'm not proud of, but I don't think I've ever spewed anti-woman mumbojumbo.

Of course you haven't. I can't imagine that you would ever do something like that.

So it was a joke.

:D
