I'm 15 and I like cursing with the adults haha. I wanna be treated equally not as a wittel tike dat don't speak english no good. I wanna be treated as equal. Not catreful a little one may hear let's censor everything! That is a problem with the world too much censorship. So what if someone curses off, who cares. f*ck, what is the big deal?

would anybody find a problem with just stating at the top of the forum directory that "Forum content may not be suitable for children"?

that would give a blanket warning, then nobody could complain.

QFT. You know kids are probably some of the biggest people who say stuff like that on this site, not to say adults don't. At my school, everyone swears (Except the very small group of people, like me. :D ) so I don't see your point. Oh right, you don't have one.

As far as showing age on the forms, how many people under 18 do you think would get on here for anything BUT the game? I'd bet 99% would see "Forums" and say "screw that I'm here for the game" as for me, I make up that other 1% (for the very short time that remains between me and my 18th)

one parent's view ...

Post by PLAYER57832 »

As a parent, the two ways to protect your kids on-line are to A. have your computer in a family area (not their room). B. (Most importantly), teach our kids to protect themselves, just like we teach them to cross streets, etc.
You would be amazed at how easy it is to track kids. I won't give hints here, "in case" but CQ is really and truly the very least of our worries. Those of you who are concerned are laudable. If you are worried about language, maybe you should just watch your language period, both because of kids and since it offends many adults. BUT, that is an individual choice.

I haven't found a technical parental control that works yet except for very young kids. They are either too restrictive (such as sites watching porn also limiting access to genuine medical information) or let too many things in. Older kids are generally saavy enough to circumvent them anwyay. At some point we have to teach, teach ... and pray.
