I am starting a new tournament series called Last Man Standing. The first tournament in the series will be played on the Classic map with the following settings:
Players: 64
Map: Classic
Type: Standard
Order: Sequential
Cards: None
Fortification: Unlimited
Fog of War: Yes
The tournament will be played out over five rounds to determine the Last Man Standing. In the First Round the players will be randomly divided into 16 groups of four. Each group of four players will play three games against each other to determine the winners of that group. Points will be awarded at the conclusion of each game as follows:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point
4th place: 0 points
After all three games have been played, the two players with the most points will move on to the next round. If a tie occurs, the group will continue to play one game at a time until the tie is broken.
The remaining four rounds will be played out exactly as described above with the following number of players:
Round 1: 64 players (16 groups)
Round 2: 32 players (8 groups)
Quarter Finals: 16 players (4 groups)
Semi Finals: 8 players (2 groups)
Finals: 4 players (1 group)
At the end of the final round the player with the most points (in that round, not overall) will be named the Last Man Standing.
