In honor of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, I came up with this tournament idea.
There will be 12 on each team. The people on each team will be divided into 4 triples sets. Each triples set will play one game against each triples set on the other team (e.g. each Mario team will face each Sonic team once and vice versa). After each game, each player will recieve points based on where the finished in the game (see scoring below). After Each Triples set plays each triples set on the other team, the set with the least combined points from each team is eliminated. This repeats with new triples sets. Points carry over from the previous round. These rounds repeat until there are three people left on each team. Each group of three people will play a 3P game to see who represents each character.
The two winners will will play a best of three set of games to see which character, Mario or Sonic, is the best.
Scoring
1st: 10 points
2nd: 8 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 4 points
5th: 2 points
last: 0 points
If there are two or three surviving players on the winning team, each surviving player gets 10 points. the others are awarded points accordingly.
Settings
Since all olympic events are different, all maps and settings will be chosen at random. Triples and No fog will always be on. All games are casual.
Games will be played one at a time, so non-premium players are allowed.
Just keep an open space for this tournament.
