Are you proposing a wager? Because gambling is an immoral behavior and a sin, you should know that, right.

And with childhood obesity at epidemic proportions, I would have to call for a world wide ban on children from being on the internet...its just not healthy.

It's a figure of speech and you know it. As for your last suggestion . . . fine with me! Let them rediscover a place called the "library".

figures of speach...will soon disappear if freedom is taken away

with political correctness and market tested language that guarantees to not offend (and not provide truth), we are halfway there now.

And as for kids, I agree with the library idea...however, better parenting would trump any public service that can be provided.

Ah yes another fine example of the results of too much time watching television. I'm guessing that you are one of those who feel we should spell words the same way we pronounce them. There's a lot of that around here.

Yeah, I go on flame wars occasionally, and it lets you blow off steam without having to re-check your posts for flaming. It's a goog thing, don't let it die.

And yet you got the quote...

Actually, I'm a grammar whore, only I was at work and bored.

As for spelling words phonetically, I'm pretty sure that's what Americans do, not the British... (see; colour, randomise and hundreds of others).

Anyway, for flame wars - why not have an option when you register that you can put in the year you were born - that way, flame wars can be restricted to those above a certain age...

Yeah, but I wouldn;t want that, and I'm sure neither would hecter. We both go in flame wars, and would probably be under the age requirment for it.

Yeah, but I am 14, a teenager, and I was brought to the site because of risk. The game. Not the forum, although it is keeping me occupied for now 7 hours in a row. My mom won't let me leave the house.....

We need the flame wars, some people just need a place to blow off steam and act stupid. This site was never intended to be family friendly, correct me if I am wrong.

Your right it was never intened to be family friendly but the game "risk" is family friendly and if you need to blow off steam from a simple game like this then you got bigger issues. there is no nead to create threads that say "Twill....Lord of Faggotry" "GLAD THAT 9/11 HAPPENED" "COCK MEASURING TIME" just plain retarted go find a different site to display your views on stupid junk like that

Twill is an admin on the site, the 9/11 thread has been locked, and the cock thread is awesome!
so let's bring such titles outta flame wars for the kiddies to read

That's been my point all along. They say they have created FW so that those that do that sort of thing have a place to go. But it never stays there.

So you keep whining... but do you actually have any real examples of this process occuring? Strikes me that you know full well that your battle is lost, and that you're now only bumping this creaking bandwagon because you hope that attention will bring you new support.

Come on phaty, I appreciate your dedication to this lost-cause but you're just shadow-boxing with folk-devils rather than addressing any genuine issue.

It's over. You lost. Let it die.

You don't have to look any further usually than the thread subject for Forum Index. Usually the subject for FW is obscene in some manner. You don't have to even go inside the forum to be subjected to it. And there are lots of cases in other forums that go unchecked for days before they get locked up or moved. Just go looking.

Lost? Lost what? Was there a contest going on? Nope. Just a lot of people voicing their opinions and its surprisingly even still. There is no clear cut majority and never will be. It wasn't an election, just a chance for us to reveal that there are lots of people here who don't approve. More than the admins thought I'll bet.

Nah I doubt it....

I'm afraid that FW is here to stay. Oh, and I'm still free to call you 'Phaty phaty boom boom' till the end of time.

That's right Phaty. You do not talk to me like that with my mohawk.

Once again V.I. flirts with the limits of what is acceptacle around here. But that's okay, he's just demonstrating for all exactly why we don't need Flame Wars around here. Just imagine what his posts must be like when he IS in Flame Wars.

Having Flame Wars doesn't bother me... there's a lot of people who use it to vent and it probably keeps them from trashing other threads BUT...

Where I have an issue is, I should be able to open up the main forum index without having to view the latest topic in Flame Wars, which is currently, "In cunts we trust..."
Some people in CC may have children or younger siblings, etc. and I don't think that allowing such language represents this site well...

For some, a lack of intelligence leads to abusive language and a complete disrespect for other members...

I do hope that CC brass issues some reasonable guidelines in the near future.

Just so ya know, I've had mods do that to me before...

Anyway, the post in Flame Wars are appalling. They're vulgar, pornographic and downright disgusting. Which is why I, among others, go there. We like it. Takes us away from reality and people arguing about religion and politics to go and yell at others for just being plain stupid. If you don't like it, then don't go there. But guess what; some people are going to vent whether or not there's a place for it, and so would you rather have somebody go and say these vulgar, pornographic things in the regular forums (littering), or would you rather them go to Flame Wars, among all the other vulgar and pornographic things (the dump)?

I don't go to the flame wars section, not because i find it disgusting or pornographic or anything like that. i don't go because it doesn't interest me. but like hecter just said, some people seem to need a place like flame wars to vent, to just let loose, because of that i voted that it should stay. if they have a place to play and do there thing, then they won't bother me or anyone else outside of it for the most part. I say leave it and let them do there thing.....
