Who wants to be President of Conquer Club???

It is time to have the 2008 presidential elections.

The tournament will be run as follows:

Due to potential # of games - Premium Required
Pick a Candidate: 6 players per Candidate

1st round - Survive the US Senate -

To be the one true Candidate you will need to survive in the US Senate:
6 player match first one eliminated is well eliminated; 5 remaining will then go on to a 5 player match with the same rules until we are down to 2 players competing to be the real candidate.

2nd Round - The Debates

These 4 "real" candidates will then battle it out in the Debates to win the party Nomination:

Debate Issues:
1) World Hunger - Africa
2) Global Warming - Extreme Global Warming
3) War - Middle East
4) Trade - Far East
5) Education - CCU
6) Economics of Lower and Middle Classes - Madness

There will be a point system in the debates:
1st - 10, 2nd - 7, 3rd - 4, 4th - 1
Most Points gets the Presidential Nomination for the Party while Second will be the Vice Presidential nominee. Tiebreaker TBD

3rd Round - The Elections

This is where this tournament will take a turn; no longer will it be singles. It will now be doubles battle:

Republicans vs Democrats:
13 battles representing the 50 states and the District of Columbia in the Electoral College: Regions have been divided based off of 2004 Elections - 4th post

I will calculate votes based on a scoring system yet to be determined. Just like the real election it will be possible to win the Presidency without winning the Majority. What a great country we have here?

All games will be Sequential, Escalating, Unlimited, No Fog

Before everyone goes crazy on me...

I know there are many different candidates....even various independant parties...

I am trying to keep the size of this tourney under control...so I just picked some front runners plus some others...

If your favorite is not here just mention the name and if I get enough requests for that person I would consider replacing one....

If and I mean "IF" it was to fill rather quickly I may consider adding candidates to each party

Put me down for Mitt Romney. :)

Also, send me a PM cazmart, and let's discuss the format you have for the finals. I love the format up to that part, but then I think it gets a little heavy and intense. ;)

Very well thought out.

I would prefer Huckabee if you add him, but put me in as Giuliani for now.

I suggest cutting down the finals to just perhaps 10 games. Then assign a total amount of votes to each game based on adding up the totals from 10 regions. This would keep the number of games down but still keep the electorate theme.

2 votes for Huckabee. But I'll take Ron Paul until Huckabee gets enough.
