Actually, I think making the title of this map "ASIA" would be best and changing the current Asia map title to "FAR EAST" since that's the title on the image.

EDIT but I guess that won't fly.... ugh

I think a new name containing any variant of "Continent" would be a bit of a misnomer, as this map includes many Asian islands, even extending to the Malay archipelago, which is often considered part of Oceania. I think a name using "Countries" or "Complete" would be more to the point, and such names have been suggested by myself and others. Perhaps a set of names could be proposed through a poll at this point?

Why not just call it "New Asia". People are going to refer to the map as "New Asia" anyway, so might as well make it an official name.

There is a term of art called Asia Minor, so Asia Major might be inferred as excluding it. I still think Asia Magna works well. It's latin for Greater Asia and it's short and simple and cool.

Something just occurred to me. You could do an inset around NK and SK and then be able to approach the islands of Japan separately.

Since this map, in its current idea, looks mostly to be a political map, perhaps naming it 'Asian Nations' would cover the area and idea?

I think it's time for Peter Gibbons to decide on a name for his map, or to run a poll with any candidate names he wants to include from the many nominees already posted. It seems like the name is just about the only thing anyone is discussing here (IH's recent post is the exception).
