Scorpion failed to show up for his match, so he's been disqualified fromt he tournament. Also, ImperialPower has been eleiminated from his match.
On to the good news:
Because of scorpions disqualification, it left group 5 with only two members, so that means that evilweasel8 and $tokA move on to the next round by default. So kudos to them for simply showing up and following instructions. As for the rest of us, we still have to fight our way to the next round.
Sorry about my lack of activity around here folks, my computer has been having issues over the past three weeks, so my access to any internet conenction has been very sporadic...
needless to say, i've got some updates to make, first off, evilpumpkinheadman and lincecum have indeed won their game and move on to the next round. But will they have to face each other after having played together? only time will tell!
There have also been numerous eliminations from games that are still un underway, but since players move on based on wether their team wins the game and not wether they survive, these people still have a fighting change unless their entire team has been knowcked out of the game.
Regardless, the first post is now updated with all the current standings.
rudolphirvinpoir and JvdH have emerged victorious in their game and are moving on to the next round. 3 games are done with 5 left to go, only time will tell who will still be moving on.

ImperialPower deadbeated out.
I guess you could say I fought alone, and died alone.

ZionT (that's me) and jdenvil were victorious!
Yup, kudos to the both of you for winning your game and moving on to the next round. As for the other six players, including myself from that game, they have all been eliminated. I thank them and everyone else already eliminated form the tournament for taking part.
There's still 5 games left to go, with a few of them getting close to wrapping up, so we'll see where things go from here.
With Theldin and Checkmated victory in their match ithe tournament moves one step closer to completing the first round, 3 games are left with players still in play, most notably game 4 where not a single player has been eliminated yet.
Curse that fog for not letting outsiders see the action taking place. It seems like a great match is underway in there.
First post has been updated to reflect the latest winners from game 7. only two games left, one of them looks to end shortly with only 1 man left on three different team, the other has some seriously epic fights going on, or so the rumors say.
This just in, game 4 has had it's first elimination of the match, so we know this game might just be starting to wind down to an end. Either way, one heck of an epic match is going on.
Now that all 8 games have come to an end, the first round is finally over, and the second round can begin, I'll be making the games and sending out PM's letting everyone know what group their in shortly.
PM's for the second round have been sent out, so the 48 hour disqulaification clock officially starts now. Good luck in your fights folks. The winning teams from both game will move on to the tournament finals where they will fight for the honors of being the tournament champions along side a partner.
Just a reminder folks that the groups for both games only state what game you need to join, they don't state who your teammate is. This is due to the confusion that took place in the first round that led to me changing the tournament setup so that you would randomly be sorted into a group before each round, and from that group of eight you would join the games in any order effectively making your own teams in the process.
This decision made it easier for both myself and the participants of the tournament and has allowed the tournament to progress more smoothly then if i had forced everyone to join the game in a highly specific order.
I do apologize if this has brought up any confusion this round. If any of you have any questions or concerns, feel free to either post here or send me a PM and i'll get back to you asap.
How about offering the remaining spot to previously eliminated players from the tournament in descending order of A) elimination order in the round one games (i.e. offer first to the last person eliminated from each round 1 game) and/or B) their attendance statistic (could be used as tiebreak for A)?
The rationale for B) would to hopefully reduce any further delays in starting/completing the tourney.
I've decided to go with a a mix of both options you guys have presented me, but i've also made a choice of my own.
The missing player from your group being hackx5nine, i've gone to his previous game and sent a message to everyone in that game that played and didn't get booted for being a deadbeat, and simply set it so that the first person to grab the empty seat gets it.
