I agree with whoever it was who stated that Aage was being sarcastic earlier with his feelings towards inactives. I don't really see an actual case on him. I think he's playing as town and has ruffled some feathers because he himself has been irritated but his moves have been generally pro-town in nature and he is actively contributing today. I feel pretty neutral on Skillfu right now. Madmitch is probably the scummiest though I don't know how much experience he has so I have held off a bit on him. I also can't shake the feeling that Mudpuppy is scum but even rereading and seeing other cases on him, I still don't feel like I have found enough solid to really base a case off of. I could be convinced to switch to a Hotshot wagon but am holding my vote for the moment. The switching his vote to pershy and then to Storr seems a bit careless as a move for mafia but I can see a bit of a point about it possibly being Hotshot playing both sides.

As the post said above. Storr had roughly 170 posts in topic.

You might think this is a fair question, but I've made this mistake before as scum -- trying to prove I'm town with a late-day vote or post. It ended up backfiring. Sometimes people just do poor things to prove something, especially if it's a lie.

Both D1 lynch targets were (likely) town.

Then your choice of who "appeared scummier" doesn't make much sense. The best thing to do in this case is the lynch that will give the most information. Though I think in this case we got that.

Now if deg ends up scum we will all really be kicking ourselves but im buying his claim.

Shouldn't. You go with the information you had at the time. If you feel bad in retrospect about such a decision that means you were intentionally playing badly the first time around.

Scum knew that neither of the candidates were scum so they could just let it happen and keep the blood off their hands.

Or, scum knew that degaston was scum and engineered a late-day switcheroo. I tend to prefer your explanation but just be aware that it's not the only one. We should avoid using circular reasoning to prove that dega is town.

Is this an agreed way of quoting in this forum? To me, it's a bit confusing given that the setup indicates that these are quotes from the same person even though they aren't.

re: aage, I agree that he was being sarcastic, but I do like MP's efforts in relation to aage who has seemed to contradict himself at the end of D1. To me, however, it appears to be in a quest for the lynch that would yield the most information rather than a scummy vote.

re: skillfu, the weakest bit about this case is the incredible OMGUS added by madmitch. WingC's case is that no one is defending skillfu. I don't get that either.

This analysis I like the least because Deg gives us two scenarios for each player and then connects a read to it with no particular motivation. His "strongly town"-read on Mudpuppy seems based on the fact that MP believed his claim. His other reads are not substantially supported at all.

It's not just that he believed my claim. It's that he believed both my claim and Pershy's, and made a strong effort to not have either one of us lynched, even though it would have looked very scummy if he had been successful.

You now know that Pershy was town, so MudPuppy's votes could not have been a case of one scum trying to protect two others.

If just MudPuppy and I were scum, then what possible reason could he have had for unvoting Pershy at the last minute to try to create a tie? He could just leave his vote as is, and let aage take the heat for being the vote that pushed Pershy over the edge.

If just MudPuppy was scum, then there is absolutely no reason for him to try to create a tie. If he is successful, then not only will he have prevented a townie lynch, but it would draw a huge amount of attention to him and be very likely to get him lynched on D2.

So whether you believe I'm town or not, there is no logical reason for MudPuppy to vote the way he did except as a potentially suicidal effort to protect what he thought were two high value town roles.

Deg, why did you change your mind about leaving it up to everyone else?

Epitaph said the deadline was noon. I had to go at 11:30, so I thought I would have no chance to influence the vote after that. I was surprised to come back at 12:30 and find that it was not over. (BTW, the times for the last few vote changes you listed in your post are 1 hour off) I didn't have time to do a vote count, and even if I had, I would not have tried for a tie, because I'm aware that a no-lynch is considered anti-town, and I was not sure of Pershy's alignment. A vote for Pershy seemed to be my only option at that point.

Sooooooo, more than half the people playing the game are on this list. Well that helps narrow it down...lol.

Some of these people I don't really see a case against which I have stated earlier(And no offense, even though you claim town I think I'll reserve judgement). Strike wolf v1 compared to v2 is damn near impossible to get a read on as it hasn't been long enough and the whole virus thing I will be honest, I coudn't even tell you what he has posted thus far. I'd only read these two posts when I made that comment, subsequently read the previous ones and understand the case against Pixar now. The way I saw it:

Option A - Mafia trying to find out the truth. They could have just shot Mtam and would have a good idea of the answer....
Option B - Some form of protective role as per the soft claim, and had spent the entire nightphase getting confused as to whether he should use it on Mtam or not, and now quite selfishly wants to know if he should continue to use his ability on Mtam. This is why I want to know who he targetted last night. He didnt answer that question. Even as Town, this still wouldnt be clever play, though many have said he is inexperienced.

@Strike V2.0 - Madmitch is very new, and tends to play a lot of OMGUS votes. I'd defend him, but I havent yet worked out a way to tell if he is scum. My only guess would be if he never shows up on mafia lynches, but thats a long shot even then. Very Very hard to read. Likely to be as unhelpful to mafia as he is to town. I find him amusing though.

Don't try to minimize what you are doing. You smelled a 'big name' claim (by this I mean like the inner circle of HP friends) and wanted confirmation. Why would you wanna clear the smokescreen of flavour, what can you ever gain of that?

As much as it's 'not beneficial' to soft claim (agree) it's more detrimental for town to push these name claims especially when flavour points to a town name claim.
