Don't think the divisions could be much fairer. Div A is probably toughest. Div B looks interesting I reckon there could be a surprise or two there.jpcloet wrote:So after talking again with Masli, the top 8 clans from last year kept their rank spot. We put the Division winners TOFU and AOC as 9 and 10 (and then moved them all up to the vacant spot with THOTA not participating) Due to that setup, there were a few minor swaps to ensure most of a division from last year was not in the same division and also to ensure TOFU and AOC were not in the same division. Based on season 2's original promotion schedule, TOFU and AOC ended up with the same division leaders as they otherwise would have. I think we have a fairly good balance and the competition should be at a very high level this year.
Divisions are posted on the first post.
Devil's Brigade. I am guessing EMP is EMPIRE. That will make an interesting match-up for some of my Clan matesthe.killing.44 wrote:

lol at the last comment. I raised an eyebrow too.the.killing.44 wrote:The two division winners, two undefeated clans in 2010, arguably the top two clans of the year, in the same division. And then there's Div B.

The Legion has 22 members. We are fine with the requirement. It will really show the depth of the clans. Perhaps TSM needs to promote some players from their training grounds? What is that thing called? The Spankademy? Woo Goo!laughingcavalier wrote:The 10 player minimum is a lot for small clans to hit every week - can we lower it, make it 8 for example? I think everyone would want to have more than 10 almost all weeks. But in a clan with fewer than about 20 actives it could be a big hassle for the clan contacts to get enough players to turn out at busy times.
Don't sweat it reptile. I just did a RPI ladder using only clan challenge results in months ending in the letter "y" and in odd numbered years...turns out everyone in our division is pretty terriblereptile wrote:3 years we have participated, 3 years we are in the hardest division... lol... kind of strange how that works. tofu in it automatically makes it the hardest

We are 15 regular players and 4 part timers, but i think we'll cope no problem. I rather like the 'minimum 10' rule - it ensures more people get involved.laughingcavalier wrote:The 10 player minimum is a lot for small clans to hit every week - can we lower it, make it 8 for example? so do you want that seeding is made by reputation, not by results? is that the reason THOTA is not in? didnt want to be in 2nd line of seedings?Incandenza wrote:The fact that LoW, the Monkis, TOFU, and Kort aren't each in their own division, but are instead clustered in two divisions, is, as the kids are calling it these days, a travishamockery.

The 4 Season2 finalists are all in their own divisions, TOFU won a Division2 grouping, so they technically have not proven themselves as a league clan, although we all know what they did outside of the league. Plus if you look at the playoff structure, both teams in a Division can still make it to the Finals this year.Incandenza wrote:You know, I obviously don't have a dog in this hunt, but it seems like once again flawed numbers have prevailed over common sense, something that has become endemic to the Reign of the CDs. The fact that LoW, the Monkis, TOFU, and Kort aren't each in their own division, but are instead clustered in two divisions, is, as the kids are calling it these days, a travishamockery. If nothing else, Division A is a total farce, given that it contains both division winners (plus both clans are in the midst of CC semifinals), along with the criminally, perpetually under-ranked Legion, who could win the whole league and still be ranked #12 on the ladder by all indications. And I like the Bandits as much as the next guy, but valuing their league result over their lack of pretty much any other significant result (not to mention their current pasting at the hands of G1) just strikes me as misguided.
Good luck, everyone. Clearly you're in good hands here.
To be a clan you must have at least 10 active members and most clans are 24-30 clans, so that means less than half of most clan members need to participate on a regular basis. I think you need to figure out who will be showing up every week then.laughingcavalier wrote:The 10 player minimum is a lot for small clans to hit every week - can we lower it, make it 8 for example? Division B seems to be full of clans that get no respect but have played very well. Maybe if BPB win the league, they will be taken seriously by more people. Have you played their dubs team or Fruitcake in games? They are a very strong gaming clan, just maybe not as active as people think they should be, but to each their own.the.killing.44 wrote:The two division winners, two undefeated clans in 2010, arguably the top two clans of the year, in the same division. Well, looking forward to quite the test.

with less dubs games it shall be much more difficult for them i think...Though i love the kids...i dont see them as strong this year...then again it would be us and them as 1/2 in division cjpcloet wrote:Division B seems to be full of clans that get no respect but have played very well.
