I think I was misguided by suggesting the outline! It didn't help a bit! But I think the current legend is fine and fits rather well.

A few things to consider now:
  • Continental Names -- Have you found any possible names other than North, South, East, West, etc during your research?
  • Curious to know if you have even more possibilities for the 'North Pole' marker.
  • Perhaps you could nudge the army shadows of both Svalbard and Ireland, so they aren't sitting directly atop the territory.
  • Perhaps move the army shadow of Finland so there is no chance of it obscuring the borders to the rest of Scandinavia.
  • Nit picky, but W. Asia's color in the Bonus Legend seems a little to bright. ;)

This map is coming along nicely! Perhaps over the holiday season we can get it into Final Forge.

I've darkened Weat Asia, and moved the army shadows you specified. Also, I have not been able to find suitable names to replace the North/South/East/West.
I have two other options for the North Pole marker. I could mix and match the fonts and colours if needed.

Hm, I've been trying to think of some other names for the directional areas, but not many ideas are coming up.

But perhaps a thought would be to consider changing 'North Alaska' to 'Arctic Alaska', and 'South Alaska' to 'Bering Alaska' or 'Pacific Alaska'.

And as for 'North Greenland' could change it to 'Arctic Greenland' and 'South Greenland' to 'Atlantic Greenland'.

Those are just minor suggestions, and really I'm fine with North/South, but just thought I would throw those out.

What a practical name..

2 words 21 letters, that makes for a good name on a map with limited space.

Considering that Greenland belongs to Denmark, I'd go with South and North Greenland. If you want to save space just abbreviate north and south to 'N' and 'S'.
N. Greenland.
S. Greenland.

Keep it simple.

More abbreviations:
Is. instead of island ( Baffin Is. Victoria Is. etc).
N.Alaska
S. Alaska
E. Sakha
W.Sakha
Swe (Sweden) Fin (Finland) Nor(Norway).

Considering the arguments i've seen, i think i'll stick with North South greenland, i cant call it danish or scandinavian as all of greenland is under danish control. Also Atlantic Greenland just seems strange to me for a country up that north. As with the abbreviations, the places you mention, i have enough room in those areas that i dont need to abbreviate. I however will change it to arctic alaska and pacific alaska. I dont have enough time to post an update now, but i will later today. So far i have just the name change.

              Final Forge

---The Arctic Map has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be at least two days (but may extend pass that) for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think all the zones in the Yellow region are part of Russia, so why not call it Asian Russia to be uniform with European Russia?

Another thing...I think Iceland should be part of Scandinavia as it is historically a Scandinavian country.

to answer your first question, i cant call it asian russia, as i have other parts of russia in the blue continent.

As for your second argument, it is true that iceland is historically scandinavian, but for gameplay aspects, i wll keep it as part of europe

A few things to consider, perhaps making the 'N' symbol a little smaller on the Small Map.

Perhaps you could change East Asia to East Siberia, and West Asia to West Siberia. **Shrugs** :) I don't mind 'East Asia' and 'West Asia', just was thinking of other possiblities.
